Abdullah Al-Ajmi was being held at Guantanamo. After he was released he drove an armored truck with an estimated 10,000 pounds of explosives into a compound and killed 13 Iraqis and seriously wounded 42 others. I wonder if the relatives of these 55 victims feel if Al-Ajmi should have been released. If (or should I say when) other detainees who are released commit similar acts everyone who clapped at this show and supports this cause will bear some of the responsibility. How proud you will be!
The story you tell is tragic. But in my opinion, what an inmate does after being released from a wrongful imprisonment does not justify the wrongful imprisonment.
I respect your opinion and your courteous reply. My concern is that some of these detainees are truly dangerous and not all of them are wrongfully imprisoned. More than a few of them have not been allowed back in their native countries which tells you something about their perceived danger by those outside the US. Life is grey as opposed to black and white but at the end of the day the decision to release Al-Ajmi costs lives. If I was related to his victims this poetry might ring hollow.
who is this guy talking?

The man speaking is Hadi Jawad, one of the founders of the Peace House in Crawford, Texas. Search for him on Google to learn more.

Thanks shizzy.

Powerfully moving - thanks for posting. We must close Guantanamo and similar American prisons around the world.
