I like the lighter lids with the brighter lips. I think that because you used the black liner and lashes, it makes your eyes still stand out, but still leaves the lips the focus. It's tough to find the balance, but I think you got it! I can't wait to try it, too.

I know u love the platinum but I wouldn't do it for very long. My hair was bleached by a very good stylist and even then after a year it was somewhat damaged more than I could deal with. Now I am doing ombré color with hcrown hi lights every 3-4 months n it is much healthier, less maintenance n less costly.
wow i didn't know about the bleach causing them to have to wipe off some makeup! good to know! i'm getting my hair dyed for the first time this weekend so i'll make sure to bring makeup to touch up after haha

The platinum really suits you! I have had that same colour for a couple of years. I had to fight for months with hairdressers before they agreed to bleach it, and only agreed then because I cut it short. I absolutely love it though and think it's worth all the hassle and money!

I would say a little darker or defined on the brows, wing the upper liner a little and maybe a light brown shadow smudged under the lower instead of black ...maybe same color used for crease...And bring back the blush, as we love your blushes like ummmmm Bourjois #54 Rose Frisson . but just a little for some flush. I think the Grain shadow was a great choice to pair with the coral colored lip, nice job Lisa! It's fun to wear different colors and experiment with color. I wouldn't worry about the whole age thing, do what makes you happy. You already take that idea with your clothes so why not incorporate that same idea with your makeup? I like the lipstick color! I think you could get away with a bit darker eyeshadow, too, just to balance out the bright lip. That's a color that really makes me yearn for Summer!
I love the your look today... the lip is so fresh looking :) After my highlights, I have always left the salon w/we hair, since my hair is so long, I just tell her to spray it w/ "it's a 10" or gel if summertime to let it go curly, that way I don't overwork it for a few days :)...my stylist says the same thing when I mention that eventually w/gray coming in, I think I will have to go one color...I think she feels once we go there, I can't go back or something...and the upkeep and you ment'd..xo
lisa have you tried the macadamia nut spray (not the oil its to strong) i only love the mist- i have 80% gray- i dye it every 3 weeks med auburn for the past 40 yrs--so its really treated hair!!!- i use the paul Mitchel skinny serum- and the madcamda nut spray- i have not had frizzes- whizzes zippies- hair its restores the hair 100% to soft silky hair-- (god bless Tammy for mentioning that nut treatment lol) happy new yr beautiful LOVE SHELLY
I use mac blanc type 2 all over lid n then omega in the crease for a no make up look. I hav hooded eyelids so I always wear eyeshadow. Wud love to b able to pull off a brighter lip
I hate to be the only negative voice here, but I think this is more of a summer pink lipstick. A bit too bright for winter, although it looks good on you.
Lisa, for me personally, at my age, which is 37 - I much prefer done eyes and nude lips. I think it's more of a personal preference than anything. However, I am jealous that you can pull of that lipcolor so well!
Love the more natural eyes with the bright lip! It puts the emphasis on the lips but the lashes and liner still let the eyes be defined without being overdone :) I'll probably be trying this soon!

I agree about picking either a statement eye or lip. To be honest, I think that looks nicer even if you are 20. I love your eye makeup today! I have been looking for a "no makeup" eye look and have been using a linen type color with cork in the crease, but I am going to try a bronzer now! I may have to check out that shadow as well. When I am running the kids around in yoga pants I feel a little silly in full makeup, but I am a southern girl at heart....I need my makeup! This is perfect!

Hi Lisa, I don't think the lipstick is showing up as bright as it probably is. With that said I like the nude lipsticks on you better. I know I'm always trying to get away from the nudes and wear reds, and corals and they just don't look as good on me. At least I feel they don't, however other people say they like them. I think you look beautiful in this makeup, but I would agree with John, I prefer the smokey eye and nude lip myself. :) I have always wanted to try going blonde and only got as far as blonde highlights because every hair stylist I had said that is what I should do. I agree on balancing a bright lip with a clean eye...I loved what you did on your eyes. I do similar things...brule all over the eye with kid, or copperplate (something matte, brown, midtone) lightly in the crease for definition. I sometimes do grain lightly over the lid too...I have hooded eyes due to age so I keep it a light application and away from the crease.
The lip colour is fine.. nothing wrong with it.. personally I think a nice bright colour on a dull winter day helps brighten us up a little.. I noticed you changed earrings were they too heavy still? My daughter has gone blonde recently, natural colour is brown but she had dyed it black, then red, then black before going blonde.. her hair is not in good shape now :(

Hi Lisa, love that lip color. I know what u mean with all that highlighting drama. I've changed 3 times because no one wanted to dye my hair one color:) so then I found my actual hair dresser. She is so professional. Every month I get my roots and what I also do is I buy from a beauty supply store a non permanent color and dye my whole hair with that. It lasts for 10 washes but my hair looks so fresh and doesn't damage my hair at all.
Hey Lisa I really love the nude lip look with the ivory/white/light clothing colors next to your face. What about trying the brighter lip color with a darker top? It is pretty but would be even prettier with a navy, black or other dark top. I am a bit older than you and bright lips are so hard for me to feel comfortable in.
I have that lipstick and love it. I think it's also a really good lipstick to mix with other lip colours. For example, I put a chocolate lipstick on and then go over it with the YSL one and then blend and blot.

I focus on my eyes because my boyfriend hates it when I wear lipstick or lip gloss. He just wont kiss me if I have lip products on. Haha Normally I don't have anything on my lips, just my natural color, which is fine to me because my lips are quite dark red on their own...
john Frieda shampoo for volume really works really makes your hair fuller I get it for my hunny and when I want volume at the roots. It's drugstore but truth be told if you're blonde with bleach ypu can use any shampoo but id recommend a moisturizing conditioner :) aragon oil and purple shampoo is the best combo atleast that's what I learned in BS and you're smart to get your hair done professionally:-)

I used to dye my hair blond but without bleach for about 6 years and i can say it damaged my hair no matter what products i used. I have thin hair, without volume and t grow so much harder now and i'm trying to let it grow to have highlights only but it's really difficult i feel like going blonder is addictive . I recommend you only to dye your roots and to keep it hydrated as much as you can so you won't experience hair loss like i do.

Lisa, you should do a long bob, and do lowlights and highlights dependinding on the color of your real hair color. I think it looks a little over-processed, but don't get me wrong, you are beautiful hair or no hair. I just think it would show your eyes and your own beautiful feature, or maybe use a blonde color rather than bleach. Toners only last a week or so, so that's really just wasting your money. If yoy would use lowlights around the eye area, your eyes will pop! Happy New Year!
Hmmm... I'd leave the coral lip for the summer. I have a DARE for you. Try rocking a matte red lip and plain eye with winged liner. Kinda like juicytuesday. Im dying to get that red lipstick she mentioned. I have braces though and hate drawing attention to them. I'd love to see you try it.
My haircolor looks like yours and I color it myself with Garnier haircolor (it costs 4 euro). You can definitely do it yourself and save a lot of money.
I like the "lighter eye" look with this clear peachy coral lipcolor, and I like the lipcolor - looks like a springtime-tropical-resort color to me, though you could wear it any time. My attention goes to the edges of the lips here, like I'd like to see more definition around the edges - maybe it's the liner you used, or no liner used, or the texture of the lipstick or some combination of those. Wonder about comparing a similar color in MAC, applied w a brush, and a different liner?

I don't think they want to do all blonde hair because as you age it starts looking like gray hair instead of the blonde you're trying for. I feel bad saying this, but I thought it was gray :( I don't mean to offend, it's probably the lighting or something. I do like the eye makeup and lips, very nice.

I Love my hair blonde, but every salon I have been to is totally against bleaching hair. All the salons say it is TOO DAMAGING. Since I have yet to find a product that helps with damage, I have no choice but to give up on the blonde shade. I serious dislike my hair at the moment. This may sound rediculous, but my hair has a huge impact on my self image. I hope 2012 is a better Hair Year for me :(

Hello Lisa, I love that pop of coral color on you. It is very similar to what GossMakeupArtist mentioned as a few of his favorite looks in celebrities (a few days ago). He said neutral eye, and pop of color that matches the outfit...or something like that. I really like this color on you because it's not a bold red, bold orange, or bold wild color. It's a color that looks good on you anyways, but brighter! The hair is a little to platinum for me. I just have to get used to it! Thanks! :-)

Back in the 60's & 70's, my Mom bleached her hair blond and every one of my cousins that visited us in Florida during that time left with blond hair too! She always said that everyone should go blond at least once.

I like the lip color but I do think it needs a slightly darker or more defined lip liner to make it pop. very pretty though.

I love the your look today... the lip is so fresh looking :) After my highlights, I have always left the salon w/we hair, since my hair is so long, I just tell her to spray it w/ "it's a 10" or gel if summertime to let it go curly, that way I don't overwork it for a few days :)...my stylist says the same thing when I mention that eventually w/gray coming in, I think I will have to go one color...I think she feels once we go there, I can't go back or something...and the upkeep and you ment'd..xo

lisa have you tried the macadamia nut spray (not the oil its to strong) i only love the mist- i have 80% gray- i dye it every 3 weeks med auburn for the past 40 yrs--so its really treated hair!!!- i use the paul Mitchel skinny serum- and the madcamda nut spray- i have not had frizzes- whizzes zippies- hair its restores the hair 100% to soft silky hair-- (god bless Tammy for mentioning that nut treatment lol) happy new yr beautiful LOVE SHELLY

I use mac blanc type 2 all over lid n then omega in the crease for a no make up look. I hav hooded eyelids so I always wear eyeshadow. Wud love to b able to pull off a brighter lip

Lisa, for me personally, at my age, which is 37 - I much prefer done eyes and nude lips. I think it's more of a personal preference than anything. However, I am jealous that you can pull of that lipcolor so well!

Love the more natural eyes with the bright lip! It puts the emphasis on the lips but the lashes and liner still let the eyes be defined without being overdone :) I'll probably be trying this soon!

I agree about picking either a statement eye or lip. To be honest, I think that looks nicer even if you are 20. I love your eye makeup today! I have been looking for a "no makeup" eye look and have been using a linen type color with cork in the crease, but I am going to try a bronzer now! I may have to check out that shadow as well. When I am running the kids around in yoga pants I feel a little silly in full makeup, but I am a southern girl at heart....I need my makeup! This is perfect!

Hi Lisa, I don't think the lipstick is showing up as bright as it probably is. With that said I like the nude lipsticks on you better. I know I'm always trying to get away from the nudes and wear reds, and corals and they just don't look as good on me. At least I feel they don't, however other people say they like them. I think you look beautiful in this makeup, but I would agree with John, I prefer the smokey eye and nude lip myself. :) I have always wanted to try going blonde and only got as far as blonde highlights because every hair stylist I had said that is what I should do. I always thought that it might be because they thought blonde hair wouldn't look good on me, but maybe it was that they weren't willing to do it. Not sure. Anyway, hope you are having a great day! xx

I tend to do smokier eyes and neutral lips most of the time as well, but as another subscriber said, a bright lip really does look amazing in the winter. I agree on balancing a bright lip with a clean eye...I loved what you did on your eyes. I do similar things...brule all over the eye with kid, or copperplate (something matte, brown, midtone) lightly in the crease for definition. I sometimes do grain lightly over the lid too...I have hooded eyes due to age so I keep it a light application and away from the crease.

The lip colour is fine.. nothing wrong with it.. personally I think a nice bright colour on a dull winter day helps brighten us up a little.. I noticed you changed earrings were they too heavy still? My daughter has gone blonde recently, natural colour is brown but she had dyed it black, then red, then black before going blonde.. her hair is not in good shape now :(

Hi Lisa, love that lip color. I know what u mean with all that highlighting drama. I've changed 3 times because no one wanted to dye my hair one color:) so then I found my actual hair dresser. She is so professional. Every month I get my roots and what I also do is I buy from a beauty supply store a non permanent color and dye my whole hair with that. It lasts for 10 washes but my hair looks so fresh and doesn't damage my hair at all.

Hey Lisa I really love the nude lip look with the ivory/white/light clothing colors next to your face. What about trying the brighter lip color with a darker top? It is pretty but would be even prettier with a navy, black or other dark top. I am a bit older than you and bright lips are so hard for me to feel comfortable in.

I have that lipstick and love it. I think it's also a really good lipstick to mix with other lip colours. For example, I put a chocolate lipstick on and then go over it with the YSL one and then blend and blot.

john Frieda shampoo for volume really works really makes your hair fuller I get it for my hunny and when I want volume at the roots. It's drugstore but truth be told if you're blonde with bleach ypu can use any shampoo but id recommend a moisturizing conditioner :) aragon oil and purple shampoo is the best combo atleast that's what I learned in BS and you're smart to get your hair done professionally:-)

I used to dye my hair blond but without bleach for about 6 years and i can say it damaged my hair no matter what products i used. I have thin hair, without volume and t grow so much harder now and i'm trying to let it grow to have highlights only but it's really difficult i feel like going blonder is addictive . I recommend you only to dye your roots and to keep it hydrated as much as you can so you won't experience hair loss like i do.

Lisa, you should do a long bob, and do lowlights and highlights dependinding on the color of your real hair color. I think it looks a little over-processed, but don't get me wrong, you are beautiful hair or no hair. I just think it would show your eyes and your own beautiful feature, or maybe use a blonde color rather than bleach. Toners only last a week or so, so that's really just wasting your money. If yoy would use lowlights around the eye area, your eyes will pop! Happy New Year!

I like the "lighter eye" look with this clear peachy coral lipcolor, and I like the lipcolor - looks like a springtime-tropical-resort color to me, though you could wear it any time. My attention goes to the edges of the lips here, like I'd like to see more definition around the edges - maybe it's the liner you used, or no liner used, or the texture of the lipstick or some combination of those. Wonder about comparing a similar color in MAC, applied w a brush, and a different liner?

I don't think they want to do all blonde hair because as you age it starts looking like gray hair instead of the blonde you're trying for. I Love my hair blonde, but every salon I have been to is totally against bleaching hair. All the salons say it is TOO DAMAGING. Since I have yet to find a product that helps with damage, I have no choice but to give up on the blonde shade. I serious dislike my hair at the moment. This may sound rediculous, but my hair has a huge impact on my self image. I hope 2012 is a better Hair Year for me :(

Hello Lisa, I love that pop of coral color on you. It is very similar to what GossMakeupArtist mentioned as a few of his favorite looks in celebrities (a few days ago). He said neutral eye, and pop of color that matches the outfit...or something like that. I really like this color on you because it's not a bold red, bold orange, or bold wild color.
