first off , the school is obviously not "forcing" them to do this ritual, they were probably just told to research a different religion for their social studies class and chose wicca....

that being said, the ritual itself is quite beautiful, better than many "real" ones that are floating around youtube,... perhaps because they are acting they hold the dramatic pose quite well ?

It is not right for a high school to make you do this. There are forces that rituals call on and can be very dangerous to those that don't believe and know how to handle it. She was always saying, "It's YOUR Wicca", and I have found, in my 11 years of active practice, it is very true. One practices in the way in which one finds they are most comfortable and/or works best for them. For instance, Ceremonials make heavy use of the Pentacle; Gardnerians as well to an extent.

I live in a small southern town, so pretty much everyone is christian. Last time I told someone I was wiccan, she handed me a bible, and said "Read it". It's not like reading a book will change my beliefs. But then again, I'm happy that I am part of a less common religion. :) And one that's very accepting, and natural. :)
