Your tutorial videos explain the settings of these awesome FX in Blender better than any I've seen anywhere. It is very helpful to beginners like myself to see example settings and their effects before baking/rendering only to find out its completely not what I want. Maybe you could make a collision modifier video next or some step by step ones to show how you do this?
Hi, Thanks for the great tutorial, it was very informative and helpful. I want to have the painting done on a transparent canvas, so that all that is visible is the paint left by the brush and not the canvas. Is that possible? I tried without luck with transparency in canvas material and cast shadows.
It is possible but hard to explain within one sentence. At the place where you load the image sequence to the material (textur settings) you have to scroll down to the influence tab and check the alpha box on. Then go back to the material settings and activate transparency, click on Z Transparent and set Alpha to 0.
About the shadows... All the objects behind it need the setting recive transparent on (Material Settings - Shadow Tab)
@MrLasla Thanks so much for the prompt reply. I tried what you said, again same thing, color disappears too. Actually I don't have any object behind the plane (my canvas). What I want to achieve is, animated drawing/writing with transparent background - so that I can render the video with an activated alpha channel.
Outstanding overview (as usual, dude), and, of course, MOAR!
And I agree with P4P4--do one on force fields next! And maybe after that, perhaps you can do one on Fracture Tools--this is something I'm not too familiar with, but I'd like to know it better.
@P4P4 Agreed, I understanding nothing about how they work in blender. Only in the real world XD. I had to come check this channel to see if any new ones were out because I never noticed one on the blender homepage
@MrLasla Lebst du in Deutschland oder wo ist die Schule besser gesagt von sowas habe ich noch nie gehört ich wollte eigentlich wissen ob du in die Hauptschule Realschule oder Gymnasium gehst

At 2:13 the particles don't collide with each other. Is there a way to get them to?

"Affect", not "effect". Twice.
Interesting tutorial. I can't help but think it would have been improved by having sound. Perhaps a voiceover.

Now this is a tutorial I can use. Step by steps don't answer my questions, but yours do. Thanks so much.
