I rarely comment, but this one compels me. This is just my opinion, and I am biased as I am an EMT, but it seems that the trooper had a legitimate gripe with the EMT in this video. However, his handling of the situation was an epic failure. I know that most EMS providers have seen this video, and I suspect it does not help relations between services. He put his hand at his throat for a minor infraction/courtesy... I can't see any justification for his actions!

no, the emt did not receive these charges with the ohp and ambulance situation. he was arrest on jan 11 2010. he was pulled over in his own vehicle in vian, northeast oklahoma. the emt gave another officer trouble when he was pulled over again. so i have no sympothy for the emt, he oviously has issues with respect for authority. but thats just my opinion.

This ambulance driver made my day not, my brain and my body got very hot. I gets so mad at Mr. White, I had to start a lousy fight. My fight was lame my arms were futile, so backup I called on my little bugle. Enraged and dazed I'm feeling now, my spectators are screamin "Holy Cow."
My backup arrives and says "What the heck," I screamed and said, I'm choking his NECK! His eyes are buggin and his airway is cracked, It made me think of my days in Iraq! It was all much fun and glory I had, it feels so awsome when breakin it bad. In history will I always remain, as the only patrolman gone totally insane.
As a certified emergency vehicle mechanic, firefighter and emt. I've seen hundreds of cases of lights and sirens not working. Even if they don't work you still go directly to the hospital. And you have to see all of the video. Dashcam and all. The trooper's still an @ from what you see on this clip. But you have to see it all first. If the trooper needs an ambulance someday, I hope he gets the same crew. They should drive the speed limit and hit every bump and every curb for him.

As a former law enforcement officer my opinion is the officer is wound way too tight to be on the street. From the outset he let emotion dictate his orders. First, emergency vehicles aren't accustomed to yielding for emergency vehicles. Second, there is no reason he couldn't have allowed the ambulance to arrive at the hospital then write the ticket. In my opinion, the emotion of this officer made this problem much bigger than it needed to be.

The ambulence didn't pull over for an emergency vehicle with lights on and he talked to the driver and the driver even said he understood. The EMT in the back was told multiple times to stay out of it and stay in the car. The cop told him he would get arrested. Then resisting. Ambulence with lights off is just like another vehicle. Same as taking my mom in my car. If the lights were on it would be different. Should have been a simple ticket. But EMT had to interfer.
News flash: Lead EMT = responsible for everyone in the ambulance. The cop should have called in to see if that ambulance was headed to the hospital (the ambulance has a vehicle number) He could have learned the destination and the reason for the excessive speed without pulling the ambulance over.

Racist! There is nothing in these videos to show any racism. He pulled over a white driver. He was talking to that driver and the medic who the cop couldn't even see until it was already pulled over since he was in the back started to interfer. He was told to back off and go in the ambulance multiple times or he would get arrested for obstruction. No matter who you are you just don't keep ignoring the cop when he is talking to your co worker. He could have been white would have been the same.
The true sad part about all of this is that police who abuse their position of authority are rarely held accountable by higher levels of authority, because they would rather keep them then get rid of them.
Some folks like to argue that this ambulance was owned by a private company, but in my personal opinion. This ambulance is not privately owned.

As a EMT myself if this happened to me I would be even more pist off because the officers are interfering with patient care and by doing so violating that patients rights. I hope these officers are charged with assult and battery on a EMT (City Official) and are taken off duty.

The EMTs had their lights and sirens off. They were not in a state of emergency! They failed to yield to an officer and when the officer sent a radio transmission the driver flipped him off. Get a clue and quit being tools about something you think is f***ed up.

What happened was the ambulance didn't have the emergency lights on and ran a red light. the police hit their breaks and almost hit the ambulance and spilled hot coffee in their laps along with scattering all their donuts in the floorboard. This really pissed them off and they were out for revenge!!! U can get shot for fuckin up a cop's snack. The EMT guy's should have offered to buy the cops more donuts and it would have been over with.
i use to an emt. any one can be an emt . you can go to your local fire department and take a two weeks class and your an emt. how ever some emts think they are fucking big shots.and ignore every traffic law in the book. they are guidelines for driving an ambulance you can,t just drive like a mad man just becouse you took a two weeks course. and you do not dissobey police officers.
I am certain that when you need assistance, you will appreciate the 16 credit hour course, anlong with the national standardized training the techs on this, or any ambulance, have received. If the ambulance does not have it's warning devices activated, they are expected to obey any and all traffic laws, just as anyone else would. However, the police officer was interfering with care of a patient, and the problem should have been handled after that patient had arrived at a hospital.

No, he won't get charged nor will he lose his job. The EMT was the driver , the Paramedic(Black man)was in the back of the Ambulance, he did nothing wrong at all. This was a criticare transfere(ALS), which required that this Paramedic be present, not the EMT. Had the Troopers arrested him, this would have turned into a massive lawsuit, for a critical patient would have been abandent by law enforcement for no valid reason.

Typical episode when county/state governments clash with sovereign Native American tribes. The EMTs are from the Creek Nation, a sovereign nation. Im sure there is already a sour history between the Creek Nation and OHP. State government have little to no governmental jurisdiction when it comes to matters of sovereign tribal operations. This fact frustrates many people in those non-tribal public service sectors. So i wouldn't be surprised if these are officers are venting those frustrations.
Some of you are really undelievable. I spent over 10 years in EMS and worked with alot of wonderfull police officers. Like ANY field, there are some that are assholes. I knew plenty of paramedics that were on just as big a power trip as these cops in the video. Point is, while these cops were definately out of line, that doesn't make ALL cops bad. I don't see anything wrong with this. They were pulled over for a traffic violation. Then the EMT was informed he was under arrest. The fight started when the EMT resisted arrest. (I LOVE COPS!!!)
The problem is, HE (the officer) IS OBSTRUCTING GOVERNMENTAL ADMINISTRATION!!! Here, the officer would have been charged. I am a Paramedic in NY, and I don't think I've ever, in my 19 years in EMS, seen someone pull over an ambulance. I don't think I would have even stopped, just have dispatch advise we have a patient onboard and are unable to. As far as resisting arrest, he should have complied, and filed a complaint/lawsuit later.

I'm an EMT, and I would have kept driving. There is a reason we go lights and sirens to the ER, and that would be a critical patient. The cop would have had to follow me there and deal with me after I got my patient taken care of.
This should have been handled after the call not during, good thing for the cops the patient was not critical. Is the chocking method part of OK. state troopers protocol? Lets see crown vic vs. a 3 ton plus truck and he could not pass the ambulance when he was running "HOT". Wow I am a paramedic in ohio and have had this same situation and told the cop to go stuff himself in much more colorful language and drove off why did they stop at all I would have kept driving the Police have no right stopping EMS from doing there jobs since they have a patient in the ambulance this is hores wash on the cops. The EMS should have kept driving and fought it out in the ER at the hospital.

no, the emt did not receive these charges with the ohp and ambulance situation. he was arrest on jan 11 2010. he was pulled over in his own vehicle in vian, northeast oklahoma. the emt gave another officer trouble when he was pulled over again. so i have no sympothy for the emt, he oviously has issues with respect for authority. but thats just my opinion.

As a certified emergency vehicle mechanic, firefighter and emt. I've seen hundreds of cases of lights and sirens not working. Even if they don't work you still go directly to the hospital. And you have to see all of the video. Dashcam and all. The trooper's still an @ from what you see on this clip. But you have to see it all first. If the trooper needs an ambulance someday, I hope he gets the same crew. They should drive the speed limit and hit every bump and every curb for him.

As a former law enforcement officer my opinion is the officer is wound way too tight to be on the street. From the outset he let emotion dictate his orders. First, emergency vehicles aren't accustomed to yielding for emergency vehicles. Second, there is no reason he couldn't have allowed the ambulance to arrive at the hospital then write the ticket. In my opinion, the emotion of this officer made this problem much bigger than it needed to be.

The ambulence didn't pull over for an emergency vehicle with lights on and he talked to the driver and the driver even said he understood. The EMT in the back was told multiple times to stay out of it and stay in the car. The cop told him he would get arrested. Then resisting. Ambulence with lights off is just like another vehicle. Same as taking my mom in my car. If the lights were on it would be different. Should have been a simple ticket. But EMT had to interfer.

He was talking to that driver and the medic who the cop couldn't even see until it was already pulled over since he was in the back started to interfer. He was told to back off and go in the ambulance multiple times or he would get arrested for obstruction. The true sad part about all of this is that police who abuse their position of authority are rarely held accountable by higher levels of authority, because they would rather keep them then get rid of them.
Some folks like to argue that this ambulance was owned by a private company, but in my personal opinion. This ambulance is not privately owned.
Lastly, I personally wish for that state trooper to be terminated from his employment.

The EMTs had their lights and sirens off. They were not in a state of emergency! They failed to yield to an officer and when the officer sent a radio transmission the driver flipped him off. What happened was the ambulance didn't have the emergency lights on and ran a red light. the police hit their breaks and almost hit the ambulance and spilled hot coffee in their laps along with scattering all their donuts in the floorboard. This really pissed them off and they were out for revenge!!! U can get shot for fuckin up a cop's snack. I am certain that when you need assistance, you will appreciate the 16 credit hour course, anlong with the national standardized training the techs on this, or any ambulance, have received. If the ambulance does not have it's warning devices activated, they are expected to obey any and all traffic laws, just as anyone else would. However, the police officer was interfering with care of a patient, and the problem should have been handled after that patient had arrived at a hospital.

I'm an EMT and it is not a two week course it is a 6 month to a year long course depending on what state you are in, and no local fire department will train you to be an EMT in two weeks. No, he won't get charged nor will he lose his job. The EMT was the driver , the Paramedic(Black man)was in the back of the Ambulance, he did nothing wrong at all. This was a criticare transfere(ALS), which required that this Paramedic be present, not the EMT. Had the Troopers arrested him, this would have turned into a massive lawsuit, for a critical patient would have been abandent by law enforcement for no valid reason.

cops are hilarous, they are always giving us fine examples of urban comedy< but in the process sometimes ppl got hurt, they should be proud to be featured in youtube, at least to break the routine of long hours patrolling the highways and getting some fame at the same time< not to mention the load of ideas for plots and characters to the media

Typical episode when county/state governments clash with sovereign Native American tribes. The EMTs are from the Creek Nation, a sovereign nation. Im sure there is already a sour history between the Creek Nation and OHP. State government have little to no governmental jurisdiction when it comes to matters of sovereign tribal operations. This fact frustrates many people in those non-tribal public service sectors. So i wouldn't be surprised if these are officers are venting those frustrations.

Some of you are really undelievable. I spent over 10 years in EMS and worked with alot of wonderfull police officers. Like ANY field, there are some that are assholes. I knew plenty of paramedics that were on just as big a power trip as these cops in the video. Point is, while these cops were definately out of line, that doesn't make ALL cops bad. Unfortunately, these two will probably go through "sensitivity training" and be right back out on the streets. YouTube is a great tool, good work PD

OK... I am a cop and even I know thats not the best way to handle this... It would have been a lot easier to let them take the person to the hospital then deal with what ever traffic violations may have occured... And not all Police Officers are bad... so give us a break..

You're the only one who cares about views apparently. What kind of benefit do I get from views? I ripped the video and re-posted it as a way to help get the word out, nothing more. And now I have a copy in case YT deletes the other one. Also I've sent the video out to media outlets, through emails, and on other sites. This is how a video goes viral.

I don't see anything wrong with this. They were pulled over for a traffic violation. Then the EMT was informed he was under arrest. The fight started when the EMT resisted arrest. (I LOVE COPS!!!)

The problem is, HE (the officer) IS OBSTRUCTING GOVERNMENTAL ADMINISTRATION!!! Here, the officer would have been charged. I am a Paramedic in NY, and I don't think I've ever, in my 19 years in EMS, seen someone pull over an ambulance. I don't think I would have even stopped, just have dispatch advise we have a patient onboard and are unable to. As far as resisting arrest, he should have complied, and filed a complaint/lawsuit later.

The dash camera from the Troopers car shows EXACTLY what happened.. next time you want to open your mouth know all the facts so you don't you even more stupid than you apparently are!

farmingtoncop, (a.k.a. copwannabe) don't be stupid. You know that they were supposed to let those guys go once they knew they had a patient en route to the hospital. Instead their heads got puffed up and started acting like Barne Fife, with the "you're under arrest, you're under arrest!" There was a patient who needed emergency assistant and these retards did not care. All 3 should have been arrested. You're just as dumb as they are!

I'm an EMT, and I would have kept driving. There is a reason we go lights and sirens to the ER, and that would be a critical patient. The cop would have had to follow me there and deal with me after I got my patient taken care of.

This should have been handled after the call not during, good thing for the cops the patient was not critical. Is the chocking method part of OK. state troopers protocol? Lets see crown vic vs. a 3 ton plus truck and he could not pass the ambulance when he was running "HOT". There would be more than this PUBLIC SERVANT going to jail, I bet he wasn't the only one that didn't stop or pull over to the extent of the law. Good way to help out your back up, car 606 needs an ambulance Hmmm? THINK !

Wow I am a paramedic in ohio and have had this same situation and told the cop to go stuff himself in much more colorful language and drove off why did they stop at all I would have kept driving the Police have no right stopping EMS from doing there jobs since they have a patient in the ambulance this is hores wash on the cops. The EMS should have kept driving and fought it out in the ER at the hospital.
