the things i do i put all spear men to the ridges they can get on and then put some archers on the charging enemy on the open ground and the remaining archers are on the attacking forces on the spear men. While the spear men broke, charge the cavalry to the enemy forces then false retreat and charge. Always remember don't your general die.
did need 3 tries before win. Damned unruly cavalry did need constant attention...while it is key element for win. Retreating near the sea and forming shield wall solved the puzzle. When enemy did attack shield wall my cavalry did hit it behind...and case closed.
The best strategy here is to wait until Saladin's spearmen leave the thin valleys (if you charge them in the valleys you're screwed) and then surround and route them with your cavalry. Split your cavalry (half at the bottom half at the top) and launch a counterattack- encircle Saladin by sending cavalry and spearmen up. Deal with the enemies attacking from the beach through the use of your archers and a few spear units. Be sure to take out the Naptha throwers since they can really hurt.
@ReadingAndWriting1 no mate, this is one of the historical battles in M2tw... But in Kingdoms u can play with Richard in the Crusades Jerusalem campaign from when he arrives near Acre in year 1191 onwards. In my campaign i besieged Saladin with him at Cairo & posted it . Huge siege since both commanders r very experienced, i had to fit it in 3 vids cos it took like 25 mins :)
suppressingfire it took you 2 videos right?i think we all lost the first time.its easy if you fall back and regroup, then try and flank their king so the saracens lose their morale,i also try to rout multiple units to spread fear in their ranks.this guy nailed it
@ArchEnemyNemesis1 I really love playing this battle, i too found it hard at 1st but now i find it easy, use ur units well, use timing well & Saladin must be killed. Yes, in my 1st battle vid i posted it fit in 2 vids but in the 2nd one it took just 1. Now i edited Richard from all that plate-armor to chainmail, nose helm w/ crown (like how he is in Kingdoms) & edited the banners & his tunic to his crest of 2 lions, looks perfect now, played it again & posted it on my KnightoftheCross1 account.
This battle is easy if you just now how to do it: you can't use your cav properly because there's not enough space to charge. Your infantry is outclassed by theirs. You just form a shieldwall on the beach in the east. Use your superior cav to take out the egyptian cav and infantry on the beach. Then let your infantry battle the enemy spearmen and use your cav to hammer and anvil strike them. The enemy come in two waves making it easier for you. The key is to get out of the ambush.
its hard but i won this 3-4 times, at first time i got completly owned but the second time i changed tactics & after killing saladin his army still wouldn't surrender but they did at lasy, we both suffered heavy casualties tho.
I had mass number of high quality knights but Saladin had a Helluva lots of spears. Meanwhile I don't have enough infantries to hold any force back for a flanking move.
You know what? You have mass enough infantry for flankin movements... and then theres your cavalary... attack their achers with some cavalary and all attention of the enemy is forced at the cavalary ;)
lol i really really love this game reality and his graphics, but my pc sucks, it haves an ATI, i want buy and pc with a Geforce 8500, so i can betterly run this game cuz it rocks so hard, and this battle is too hard to me i cant win it lol
I'm curious, with Medieval 2: Kingdoms, can you play this game too, aswell as the new campaigns, or are they all fragmented, so you can only play the certain campaign that you pick?
