The Austrians were only able to win battle when outnumbering the Prussian by far (e.g. (in thousends) Kolin: 54 to 35; Hochkirch 78 to 30; Kunersdorf 71 to 49 and Maxen 32 to 15). Even then the casualties have been quite comparable between both parties.

Those were not just Austrians. It was the Imperial Army with soldiers from the entire German Empire. Prussia broke the constitution by invading other German states (Silesia and Saxony), which is why the Reichswar (Imperial War) was declared on her.

@targetdrone13 Don't be so juvenile. This is an outstanding march, and they show Friedrich the Great and his Prussian troops fighting against Austrian troops. Although he was one of the greatest generals, even he was beaten by the Austrians a few times (by Marshal Daun a couple of times). It's a very stirring march, one of the best.

I don't think so that Prussia should be a part of Germany, because it was originally inhabited by Prussians who were a part of baltic languages group. Than Teutonic (mostly Germans) Knights came to Poland, because Polish prince allowed them. After that they started atacking Prussians. Because of that they murdered nearly all of them and conquered their land. It was in XIII - XIV century. In XVI century Poland started to rule over Teutonic knights, because of Prussian Homage.

@kent684 Saltykov was the commander-in-chief there, but the battle glory should go to Rumyantsev (although he earned fame against Turks, he was present at Kunersdorf too) and Laudon who were much more capable commanders then Saltykov... Satykov's hestation could be compared to that one of marshall Daun's.

These soldiers are real purdy, and it's neat how they stand up when they shoot, so's to give the other guys a nice target. The small professional Prussian army got its ass kicked by Napoleon's Grande Armee, and if Napoleon hadn't gotten stupid and gone after Russia, the whole continent would be speaking French. And we wouldn't have had German inventions like nationalism, Marxism and National Socialism, all of which were basically a hissy fit against the French Enlightenment..
