Word is, Hollywood might be bringing the Lone Ranger to the big screen. Not sure who will be playing the Lone Ranger, but they are thinking Johnny Depp for Tonto.
A remarkable man. When you think of what those old western cattle towns must have been like: Horse shit, cow shit, primitive sanitary conditions and dirt and dust blowing in from the prairie. And the Lone Ranger rides the range in shiny buckles and boots and a powder blue suit. Not just an intrepid lawman but someone who took a real pride in his appearance.
Great to hear a version at the right tempo. Most orchestras get carried away with it---when it comes to the finale, they are playing like their hair is on fire.
ROFL - as a former flutist, believe me when I tell you we all groaned when the music director pulled this one out. Don't get me wrong, love it, but holy smokes, my fingers ached for days. (Nota bene - we didn't have violins in our small band. The flutes got that extra part.)
He's called the Lone Ranger because he was the only one in a group of Texas Rangers that survived being killed in an ambush by the outlaw Butch Cavendish and his henchmen.

Unfortunately if we had heros like that now a days they would get yelled at for being racist bigots. I say so what. We need em anyway.

They don't make heros like Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels anymore....and we need them so badly.

The theme song is based on the William Tell Overture. The music fit so well with the program.

The Lone Ranger theme song -- possibly the best ever -- is accurately named the William Tell Overture composed by Gioachino Rossini about 1829.
