he made a collosus because he could continue to warp in even if his units were on the opposite side of the base. It's mostly because of the tanking but it's more about the ability to keep warping in after the first warp.

Ok, let me dumb it down for you:

If you see a Colossus/Phoenix in your base at the exact same time as the Protoss' push (you have no detection either) its more likely to believe that you went Stargate instead of Colossi, since the timing for a Colossus is WAY too fast.

I'm well aware that Hallucination costs no resources, with the exception of the 100/100 it takes to research it. But if you read a bit more carefully, you would have understood what I was saying.

Heres an idea: Throw down scans if you're Terran, sacrafice an OL as Zerg, or get a Robo bay and get an Oby if you're that worried about it.

you're wrong, both the scouting and the strat won the game. the scouting was crucial to see that the terran was going for the 1.1.1 build, which in turn led to the protoss going for the hallucination/proxy warp pylon strat

Protoss is actually very OP. Not the units themselves when it comes to damage and such, but spellwise they have it sooo easy. There is no hill advantage when toss just can hallu a collossi to get vision up the ramp and warp in units there. Forcefields are also very OP, i've managed winning against platinum players by spamming forcefields, and I don't even know a protoss build order! Imo, force fields should last half the time it does atm, and hallu should get the old research time again.
