  • How much does this wheel cost, minus the tire.

  • 60 seconds pff my granddad bike will run freeley it about 3 minutes FAIL!

  • why they call it a nano motor? it is atomically perfect?.....damn people with nano-sized brains

  • zzzzzzzzzzz

  • I'd say that wheel is buckled!!! lol

  • its still more fun to ride a bike using pedals and not motor..

  • how much lazier can you get... and they wonder why the world is so obese

  • lol too bad its spinning backwards ... it would be funny if he tried to ride it:P

  • LooooooooooooooooooL! "Pedal, damn it!" or "jumping the nano band"!

    - I'm surprised he didn't erase both comments yet! Lol! Maybe he's busy with the new addition to his fleet? A chainsaw motorcycle kit, who knows, his a good idea, it seems there is more petrol available than we think or were made to believe, so...

    - Just take care of the exaust noise, if necessary! :-)

  • Learn how to mount a tire.

  • @hatebadmusic lol was thinking the same thing, I thought it was a flat spot on the rim at first

  • is it direct drive or is there a planet gear in it?

  • Has anybody else noticed that a girl's bike frame design is actually better for a male rider than a boy's bike frame design? Testicle-wise, IMO...

  • gay. fat people up ahead.

  • Please watch:

THE WORLD'S SIMPLEST TRANSMISSION for BICYCLE

  • that stupid dee-doo dee-doo noise coming from that thing would drive me insane id rather pedal then listen to that

  • cualquiera

    ..

    malllll

  • Hello. I am interested in a hub motor like that, with a thumb type or twist type controller. I live in the southern USA. I like this idea, but I don't want 80lb of batteries or to spend $1000.

  • People getting lazier and lazier.

  • You would get shot for being gay enough to have that

  • @Sambird1man The real "gays" are the people who threaten cyclists with their cars, even when the bike is going 30mph!

  • not by a puss like you

  • @morph995 Yep, ate a steak today along with some homemade bread. So yeah I'm full of shit. Get out and go for a walk. And for once be like the rest of us 20% of Americans that overeat on a daily basis! : /

  • @morph995 Maybe you should get up off your ass more often. Being in your 30's has nothing to do with muscles aching. You're overweight aren't you? You're just making excuses to be more lazy, you fail.

  • Fuk the haterz! WE know that electric vehicles work, and work well.

    One love, one heart!

    White Wolf

  • if you actully made this then good job, tho i must say. it can only run for a minute or so with no weight on it at all, and then the degression is obvious as power is lost. im not sure if your expecting this to move you or assist you. but all the same, i wouldnt ba able to make it.

  • @flamebike92 I'm pretty sure that no one wants to strap the like 20 pounds of batteries necessary to run it for over 60 seconds. People don't have the technology to make batteries very small.

  • You wouldnt be able to tell how true the wheel is from this angle. You would however be able to see the how out of round the wheel was. The problem here is that the tire is most likely not seated correctly on the rim. use your mouse pointer to check...

  • haha wrong way?

  • can u ride that shit

  • Yeah everyone rides a bike when their six.

  • BOOO!!

  • these kits are stupidly expensive. Just ride a bike the way it was meant to be ridden. Pedal damn it!

  • regenerative braking be great in hilly terrain....would make battery last longer for the up hills...

  • regenerative braking is a good idea but for a bike.....I find that i use brakes very little to make it worth while installing.

  • You can tell this video is made with a loop, to make the tire look like it's spinning longer... Look at the tree on th left, it focuses kinda, then jumps back to te way it was... and repeat... lovly....

  • you mean the autofocus?

  • Free Wheely XD

  • "Some folks think regenerative charging is needed: I don't - I think a great freewheel is better!"

    That's regenerative BRAKING dude.

  • и в чем прикол? колесо крутить я и сам могу. он хоть ездит вообще?

  • that MrTeamRSR sounds like a bit of a fag. I wonder if he's realised yet that the wheel is actually 'true' but the tyre just isnt beaded on properly lol. and the whole point of it isnt the bike but the hub. Now he looks like an even bigger dick lol.

    cheers Gunnar

  • insane much?

  • awsome

  • i had put a freewhell 1 hour... for the world competition of the car that consumes less petrol

the frewheel was in fact an hyper stabilized wheel with ceramic bearings...

    the result ?

    2029km/Liter of unleaded =)

  • your video editing skills are atrocious

  • cool

put this on a bike X)

  • can you use regenerative brake with this?

  • probably can't regenerative brake, if there's such low resistance when unpowered, it doesn't seem like it could...unless there's some kind of field coil that's used to turn it on and off. then leaving the field coil charged might do it.

  • use this motor for both hubs, front and rear

  • what does this prove?

  • this prove that you can drive now almost without spinning the pedals on 14mph

  • I think this demo shows how the wheel doesn't stop after the motor stops. Standard electric motors don't allow a wheel to keep spinning.

  • You idiot, its the gear box (if used ) that stops the wheel from turning. This is direct drive, thus no different to most electric motors.

  • ok MR BIKESALOT

  • shit...

  • if anyone notcied its spining in the wrong direction... lol

  • thats only your eyes this happens all the time to trick or eney thing its just how your eyes are seeing it

  • No it's not :) What you mean is also clearly visible here (the spokes seem to change direction from time to time), but the white reflector in the wheel moves in the same direction the all the time, namely the direction in which the wheel is actually spinning. What "attpureownpk" meant was that if you'd actually drive this bicycle you'd go backwards, because the wheel is spinning in the wrong direction (if you turn it upside down to ride it) :)

  • no the wheel is just backwords look at the forks if that wheel is sppinning backwords that would mean the forks would be pointing under the bike... when was the last time you seen that... NEVER cause that would be dumb it's just backwards in the vid.. well not really we just expect that the back tire (if there was one) would be on the right side of the screen but it's not (if there was one) it's on the left side and thus spinning the correct way

  • Yeah, you're totally right, I'm sorry :) I did indeed expect the rearwheel to be on the right side, I didn't really look at the fork... Still though, looonyGUN was wrong :P

  • don't worry i started my reply as agreeing with you 100% then i looked again as was like "wait a sec" LOL

  • Hahaha, okay XD

  • wow big deal.. just flip the wheel and u good to go ;D

  • Why dont you two make up and kiss now

  • egg rim

  • put a round rim and tire combo, thats eating up battery performance.

  • but how does it ride with weight on it?

  • I like the concept. Try Ritchey Tom Slick tires for slicks on 26" wheels. They run much truer.

  • That wheel is pretty out of true. Otherwise, good job.

  • ive seen the hub motors for direct drive,,

im looking for a hub motor that is in the drive position on the bike...

it would work better on a 26" bike and the charge would last longer

and the derailer could also contain a charger??

extending the distance of the bike

this way motor would not only drive the bike but the charger with same power output.

i believe this is derection we need to take..thank you

  • brushless motor?

  • rofl!

  • must you use so much profanity... its a tiny motor... he can call it what he likes... jeez lay off

  • Really.. and work on the grammar at least if you are trying to prove a point. Makes you sound somewhat "inteli-jant" ;D

  • aw sweet dude, you invented a thin string roller!

  • yep, its as useless as it sounds.

  • I agree!! What a joke!!

  • backwards spin lmao !!

  • fak!

  • It may pedal the bike with no actual weight on the bike. put a 200lbs man on that thing.

  • love it, i can see a market for people who just need a little extra push now and then, olde folks or kids, up hills etc.

one thing that bothers me about the video si that the wheel looks out of round....

  • It's the tire look at the inside of the rims as it spins it's fine. The tire has a bulge.

  • having said that, the adverage rider can kick out 100w continuous to keep him going. if he wants to 'burn rubber' then he can achive 500w for a very limied time (an oven on low).

So an extra 250w would come in very handy indeed, however - even the 250w is borderline illigal, as 200w is the real UK limit, but no one has been challenged on 250w, and 200w is supposed to be unenforcable in law.

its this make I'm looking at, at the moment.

  • I'll stick with a BD36. 30mph on 48V ]:).

  • Your lucky to have great makes that look good - like the bionx. You also have less restriction too.

In the UK your actually restricted to 15mph max - that's the law I'm afraid, annoying and restrictive as it might be.

If you go over 250w or 15mph, its a motorbike and you have to have helmet+insurance+licence Plate (all not happening)+tax.

could ride better models with a CBT and reduced licence with a cycle helmet, if only the law would allow rational allowances to be made to encourage it.

  • Ouch. Sounds like Australia's ebike laws. Friggin' legislature...

  • well, what we really need in the UK is a mid-ground, where some of the requirment for a motorbike are applicable, but some of them arent, because they are denying us the best e-bike technology.

And its irrational to say, "you can't go over 15mph", because, on a hill, I can reach speeds of 30mph, or I can manage 20-25mph on the flat anyway; how long I can mantain that is an irrelevence.

I think their preventing e-bikes from becoming truely viable road transport, as better models arrive.

  • 15 mph!!!! Phwoa that's a tight restriction - I can go faster than that pedalling uphill! Actually i can run faster than than that for a very short time

  • Psh. Crystalyte is better. 2kW continuous :D!

  • So it only 14mph..hiph..thats kind of slow.

  • Thats just about average for a bicycle actually.

  • just took a look at your site...

how bout a kit with dewalt lith phosphate batteries and an adult size motor...

your kits would be good for children though i suppose...

  • Offering E-bike construction info and sale of my creations. Click on my name to see the first AC E-bike

  • your wheel looks slightly out of true. Just saying...nice vid.

  • does the mobile still fit in the in car?

  • Can I order one and have it shipped to the US.? I want on of these....

  • What the hell has that got to do with e-bikes!?!? Oh yeah a bit of riding practice - ha ha!

  • I could put feathers on it and it woud run faster man,,,dykes, all of you.

  • I would love to make one of these but i have some questions to ask

1 how much would it cost (averagely) to create this

2 how much weight could the motor support and still provide the same (or near same) amount of power)

  • The motor, controller and speed control(thumb or twistgrip) is ~$400. It delivers 425W peak at 42Volts

  • may you should go to slofly com/ebike/ there are one way to make your own electric bike sistem.

  • Why did you add sound effect? It sound like you did...

  • Please come to overunity dot com to discuss this

    setup.

    Many thanks.

    Regards, Stefan.

  • Seems much more efficient that current systems I have seen so far!

  • Yes, we havce run it up to 14% inclines for > 20 minutes and it still keeps it's cool! It should be about 85% efficient, and the controller is 97% efficient. A to B magazine 'atob-dot-org-dot-uk did a fantastic review!

  • Nice motor, I want one. Shame about the scafolding poles you bolted it onto though :P

  • UUhh? That is a wheel truing jig!!

  • Maybe selective regen to aid breaking?

  • the idea here is less drag, a regen system would add more drag than its worth. But that would be really nice in the near future to see a Nano hub with good torque, and regen breaking, and maybe even a light gen all in one:)
