If SSJ2 wasn't enough, he could have just gone Mystic and destroy Broly. Broly's power is only slightly above an average SSJ2. The truth of the matter is that, based on the design, Gohan turned Super Saiyan 2. Why didn't he have the electricity sparking from his aura? I don't know, I'm not one of the animators. There were times in the show where we didn't always see the sparks. Perhaps the animators didn't feel like adding them. Regardless, there is a slight distinction btwn level 1 & 2 and here you can see it in his face and hair.

When Gohan first transformed into super saiyan 2 as a teen, he had lightning all over, same as goku when he fought majin vegeta. So can anyone TRULY explain what level of Super Saiyan that Gohan is at in this fight? There's no plasma aura, and his aura is small, so saying that he's a Super Saiyan 2 is not exactly credible. But then again, a Super Saiyan can't make Broly stagger the way he did in this fight. Not to mention he has only ONE hair spike protruding from his bangs, not two. So does anyone have a serious answer with undeniable proof of his transformation? I would love to hear it because this must have an answer.

He clearly stated in the movie, "Well he's still just as strong as the last time we fought...." Meaning that Gohan knows how much stronger HE'S grown himself over the years. Perhaps he thought he could take on Broly without going all out? I just know that in the first movie Gohan could have taken him down as an SS2. But Saiyans grow stronger with every down hence Broly's power.

The truth of the matter is that, based on the design, Gohan turned Super Saiyan 2. Why didn't he have the electricity sparking from his aura? I don't know, I'm not one of the animators. There were times in the show where we didn't always see the sparks. Perhaps the animators didn't feel like adding them. Regardless, there is a slight distinction btwn level 1 & 2 and here you can see it in his face and hair.

it was ssj2 power, just not full powered. he was trouble controlling ssj2 the higher he raises it and thought that was all he needed to beat broly. however he didnt know about the recovery powerup broly got. which is why his punch did nothing.

He has 1 strand of hair hanging down, SSJ1 has a strand of hair followed by a tiny strand of hair. He transformed at will at the World Tournament for Kibito. When Gohan first transformed into super saiyan 2 as a teen, he had lightning all over, same as goku when he fought majin vegeta. I know that it doesn't apply to all cases, but it's rather odd to see a SS2 not being able to fight back LSS Broly. I mean, LSS is no SS3.

So can anyone TRULY explain what level of Super Saiyan that Gohan is at in this fight? There's no plasma aura, and his aura is small, so saying that he's a Super Saiyan 2 is not exactly credible. But then again, a Super Saiyan can't make Broly stagger the way he did in this fight. Not to mention he has only ONE hair spike protruding from his bangs, not two. So does anyone have a serious answer with undeniable proof of his transformation? I would love to hear it because this must have an answer.

He clearly stated in the movie, "Well he's still just as strong as the last time we fought...." Meaning that Gohan knows how much stronger HE'S grown himself over the years. Perhaps he thought he could take on Broly without going all out? I just know that in the first movie Gohan could have taken him down as an SS2. But Saiyans grow stronger with every down hence Broly's power.

@iAfksz I don't think gohan goes into a ssj2 because he is didn't even training all these years and he was not angry when he is fighting with broly and goku never goes ssj2 in the Hirudegarn movie he is only goes ssj and ssj3 that's my opinion and i agree with you with the lighting in the Hirudegarn movie

@chrisdragonb1988 Dude, Gohan does go SSJ2. Look at his hair. He doesn't always have to have lightning. There's been many times in the anime that SSJ3 Goku has never had lightning. Plus the animators said that they forgot to add in lightning.

He looks ssj2, but I read in Raging Blast 2 encicopledia, and it says he never turned ssj2 after the world tournament, and it says it's a mystery.

@MrRaphaelLippi the thing is technicallty rhis movie takes place b4 world tournament, but from the look of it it is ssj2 simply not at full potential just like if he'd barely reach it like in bojack movie with so few lightning.

what are you guys talknig about LOL...Broly Legendary Super Syian is stronger than everybody in super sayian 2 because he IS THE LEGENDARY SUPER SAYIAN if we compare power levels broly can be beaten at his legendary form by goku in super sayien 3 and from raging blast Broly super sayian 3 can't be beaten by nobody just gogeta ssj2 because gogeta ssj2 it's like almost a super sayian 4 and don't you guys try to outsmart me because i know about DBZ because i made alot of research so i know my words

@PhoenixShadow000 then don't read the broly ssj3 thing just the legendary thing the legendary super sayian can be beaten just by a super sayian 3...it has his reasons why hes a legendary super sayian if he werent then he could be beaten by goku ssj2 or vegeta ssj2 or even gohan ssj2 but like this he can't :) im just giving information because i see coments like gohan could be broly at ssj2 and sh*t like this :) who doesn't know anything abou Dragon ball ora Dragonball z or GT just shut up thanks

@TeckChrisTonik if you got the SSJ3 is a match for Broly thing from games/DBM, hate to break it too you, but as I said all games are non-canon, & DBM overpowered Broly by a long-shot. So an trained SSJ2, like Goku or Vegeta from the Buu Saga can overwhelm him. Teen Gohan SSJ2 also has a good chance as well.

broly got stronger too btw.... if gohan was ssj2 he still was stronger than he was in his first encounters so broly got stronger from the wounds he had gotten from goku or else the fight would be even if broly didnt.

wtf people cant spell and i find it so hard to believe gohan was a super saiyan 2.... he fared so weak against broly but of course he got weaker thanks to his studies and lack of training.

Goku ssj2 Is Stronger Then Gohan ssj2... Gohan got weaker after the cell saga due 2 lack of training that's the only reason Broly was able to beat ssj2 Gohan so badly! If Gohan would've kept training instead of studying he probably would've been the strongest of all them but he didnt so oh well.
