Brownell's has specific tools for the job. You would basically only need the specialized tool set if you are an armorer (work on, or own several 700's). $400 is well worth the price, if you are a gunsmith, and work on bolt-actions all the time. The kit not only works for remington, but for other bolt-action rifles such as (USA) Ruger, S&W, Savage, ect. Put it this way: you get exactly what you pay for.

Now that is nuts. $400.00 will go into buying another cool weapon. You can get many of the these tools on your own and make it cheaper.

$400.00 is a joke. You can create your own kit for much less with good tools. Damn with that much money i can go buy me another gun.
