So they handle better in cornering. This is because the higher a tire's sidewall, the higher the chance it would jitter when cornering. Imagine a two ton car resting most its whole weight PLUS the inertia of it cornering traveling at high speed on just one or two tires.

Disadvantage though is you lose comfort bigtime.
