Thank you all sincerely, they were great times. The guy who directed this was the director of the Kenny Everett video show, but I still think Hugh Ashton was the best bass player Ive had the pleasure to work with, a total natural. Of course Franko and Clive were brilliant in their right. Im very proud. Gerry Lambe
Wow, the filmclip to a GREAT song. Always flipped the 7" to play the Bside "Spartans". This single is in my pile of 7" singles near the turntable, of fav singles, and singles that also get airings once or more a year. Some people know it as "Going Through the Motions", but us fan's of the song, know it better as the true title, "Motions".
Hi. I was a HUGE fan of this song way back then. Still drag out the 7inch VINYL and play it occasionally. Molly Meldrum "found" them and gave them a break on Countdown from memory. Now, where's the old album? Was there one. Agree on that bass line, RED HOT!
Gawd YES! This is Fan-fucking-tastic! Hot bass chords in this, beyond catchy chorus. And I REALLY like their look. This is very refreshing.BRILLIANT set made for the video. And yes... I agree Skunkus, their look is rather Split Enz indeed. Very fabulous pop song, must stress that I am really digging that bass, it's hot!
Thank you for posting this! I heard a fragment of this song years ago and this is the first time I've ever heard the whole thing. This song made it to number 12 in the Australian pop charts in 1980.
Their look kind of suggests Split Enz crossed with The Cure.
First time I saw it, it was good, this time brilliant
