As an education major, I love that you work so closely with her and you explained the umbilical cord soooo well! One thing we're learning as "future teachers" is, instead of telling kids how to spell the words, you tell them to "stretch out the sounds" (aka sound it out) and "write down the sounds you hear." That way, she gets more practice. (:

@killercommacarley honestly i think you should teach her spanish first. latinos nowadays are forgetting how to speak spanish, which can be seen by either watching people in the news, or even talking to your own friends. i think our language is an important part of what makes latinos different. its a shame to see that a vast majority of latinos cant speak and write proper spanish.its like forgetting your roots, so please do make sure she knows spanish. she'll learn english in no time anyway

Elsewhere, its like latinos want to blend in with the american language that they dont mind speaking spanish, even amongst themselves
