@felixlpilon the English people always had extreme prejudice against all their neighbors: the Scots, the Irish, the Welsh the French and the Danes.
the Scots truing to protectionism was a most horrible betray against Scotland and their gaelic roots. if not for those traitorous Presbyterians the Irish, Scots and the french could have kicked the ass of those bloody English protestants once and for all, on the other hand then we wouldn't have all those psychotic born again evangelist in America
@MartianSanta This is ignorant ethno babble of fantastic proportions. Protectionism?? The Gaels were only just one of the many kingdoms and tribes who made up the nation of Scotland. Protestantism was a great progressive force in history that was to make Scotland more democratic and more independent of England. I wonder if people even bother listening to the video and instead merely come here to spew out their fatuous, cultish, un-historic shite.
@Taiginator: So King Robert the Bruce and the Battle of Bannockburn are lies while the Covenanters and the Battle of Dunbar are the truth? Dear me! You cause people to indulge people even more in the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche, as he taught that the lie serves life better than truth; because as a Scottish person I would much prefer to life by a lie in an independent realm than suffering by truth the English yoke! And to bereave an army on the eve of its veteran soldiers is mere madness!
The Jews of today are only two tribes of the 12 tribes of Israel.Remember Israel was SPLIT in two .The tribes of Judah and Benjamin in the south. Called the kingdom of Judah. And the 10 northern tribes became the Kingdom of Israel. Each with it's own King. The Jewish people of today are JUDAH.The 10 tribe are the Christian nations of Europe and the Americas.
Dear me! The Scots must have been mad when they had abandoned Catholicism and indulged into Protestantism! Alone that the Catholic bishops had chosen Robert the Bruce to be king of Scotland should have made them staunch Catholics for even, not to mention that their protestant follies did bereft them of their Auld Alliance with France and soon after they fell prey to the English onslaught and did not rise against the conquest of Cromwell as they did against Edward I under Robert the Bruce!
@FireEyedMaidOfWar Dear me! I don't think the Scots could be described as mad for engaging in the Protestant Revolution. It was a European wide event in reaction to the reptilian corruption of the Church of Rome and a realisation, in an age of increasing literacy that Christianity should be taken to its logical conclusion. Re Robert De Bruis and the Dec of Arb its ‘signatories’ were to rebel against Bruce only two months after it’s publication.
@PierreBayle1697: Sure, but out of all daughters of the Church the Scots should know of its infallibility! Since the Catholic clergy did chose Robert the Bruce; but as Adam and Eve the Scots are likewise punished by heaven for their transgression or maybe even worse as they were not expelled from their paradise but their paradise was transformed into their own private place of hell; and so they have pay malt taxes, are ruled by their foes and their oil is stolen and wasted on ridiculous excess.
They were right to become Protestant, the Vatican enslaves all its subjects, look at the success of England & Scotland and their achievements as Protestant nations.
@FrenchCalvinist: But the Battles of Dunbar and Culloden do not seem pretty successful to me, compared with the Battle of Bannockburn for the Scots; and so they were conquered by the English and have no not only to pay malt taxes but also have their oil stolen by the English; so they need Cardinal Richelieu to persecute the protestants and to get their country back in shape ere the English have stolen all the oil! While England could not even defend India against Gandhi!
this is the reason that until today English people sea Scots as savage and primitive barbarians, Scotland at that time seems to be almost as horrible as America
@segano1 lunatic religious fanatic savages??? a compliment? where are you from Tehran or Texas? come on, this episode shows the most unfaltering shameful time in Scottish history.
could someone please tell me what's the piece of music playing st 013 its beautiful! i have heard this before cant remember where but i would love to have this piece of music. need to know who its by: and the name of the piece of music: Would be grateful thanks.
and at 3:11 tells the problem with all religion, isn't it enough to worship your own way. Why must man and woman make it there business to convert all the earth to there way of practicing. What arrogance.
how does a Presbyterian really see the Pope? surely a Presbyterian would not doubt the personal devotion to god that he obviously has. is it more of a reaction to the complicated Papal organization with all its ranks? or, is it a "Ghost reaction" to the Old corrupted Vatican? ..i must agree that ..."That" Vatican of old was a bit naughty!!
I am not a Presbyterian, but I am a student of Calvin. The Pope receives obeisance from the people whereas the Apostles clearly taught against that kind of deference. He also teaches salvation by faith and works, whereas Scripture teaches salvation by grace. There are not two ways to get saved. Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; [it is] the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."
An incredible story. Thanks so much for posting this. Some of my family went to Ireland because they were persecuted as Covenanters. Then they moved on to the United States. This documentary gives me an insight into what they went through back then. Wow.
hahaha how did he got that percentage? 60% of the whole of scottish people ... i dont see how he could got the evidence haha

Does anyone know how to contact the BBC via email?
I would like to suggest to them that releasing a new "A History of Scotland" CD (Series 6-10) would be in their own best interest.
In case you have noticed, the already released soundtrack CD only contains music from series 1 (Episodes 1-5).
So, who´s able to help in this matter? I would greatly appreciate it!
