@judaschongo they didn't put Pride out of business. They simply won by default. Remember there was a scandal in Japan that involved links to organized crime that cause Pride to lose their revenues and TV deal with FujiTV was big.
@judaschongo It's kinda stupid, but in Japan there's a lot of gentlemen's agreement with things, a lot of unwritten rules in Japanese society. The mafia there runs a lot of things and a lot of the people know that. But the unspoken rule is sorta like it's okay as long as I don't see you doing it. The case with PRIDE was the equivalent of seeing them do it, basically it made it "official". Hence the unwritten rule was broken. In Japan once your name is tarnished, that's pretty much it.
I agree pride was the shit, of course it was unique the rules were different in both. You can knee to face in pride even if the opponent had both feet on the ground, cant do that in ufc.
Got Damn. I miss Pride. They were the best at recruiting the Best fighter in the world. The UFC new they had to get rid of Pride to become the big name in MMA.
