I had a mega crush on Julie your cruise director. She seemed to sweet. Kind of turned out to be a bad girl in real life though. Welcome to television, 80's style!
@free2drm I don't think TV today is DISGUSTING, but it's definitely different than TV in the 1970s. I'm glad to see the era of "amazingly attractive wife marries fat slob, who is also clueless" is over (1990-2004), but TV today is quite a bit more realistic than before, where people had bathrooms but apparently no toilets, and there appeared to be NO black people in Mayberry, and "high class" people had vaguely British accents...
OH..I did love this though!! and I truly do not care what people say about me for me loving this "LOVE BOAT"....if everyone was HONEST...they would WANT to be on it too...lol
I remember watching the Love Boat (and Fantasy Island) on a regular basis every Sat. night back in the early-mid 1980s when it still was originally on the air. There was and is something so SOOTHING about the opening theme as well as each and every episode. Entertaining too. Saturday nights are just not the same these days without The Love Boat (and Fantasy Island) airing on its usual channel (ABC) in its usual time slot (Love Boat: 9pm est, Fantasy Island: 10pm est). Its a crying shame, really.
@Bambolina2008 : We did the same thing. Then "Fantasy Island". Saturday night was ice cream night with the family as we watched these shows. Good times.
@TralfazConstruction Wow, my family did the same thing, we had ice cream and sometime we peeled peaches while watching these shows every Saturday night (my family lived Georgia). It's amazing to know how similar my childhood was to others in the seventies.
@cheapcape : Yes, there's some commonality to the experience. I recall, instead of peaches, that my wife'd top our ice cream with banana slices, pretzel sticks and hot fudge sauce. Peaches would've been a lower fat alternative, knowing what I know now, to the hot fudge. Good memories and I'm grateful that we have them.

This show was so cheesey, it was good. However, gopher was a stooge and a kangaroo who stole Captain Stubing's ball.
