@Lehman108 It's not that headwall, but looks similar. You have to drive over the first lip of the plateau into the higher elevation first. It definitely is steep- and it always has snow, too :)

In 1969 I went to a ski racing camp in Red Lodge in the early summer. We used to ski the Beartooth headwall. I think that's it in the beginning of the video, but without snow. It was really, really steep!

The 10th of september my son (34) and me (61) had a beautiful ride from Red Lodge to Yellowstone on our 2 Rental Road Kings. In Red Lodge it started to rain, but we went on. As 2 lonely bikers we had to ride trough the falling snow. No traffic, and 1 our later the pass was closed. We missed all the beatiful vieuws. It's for us, 2 Dutchmen from the Netherlands, i bit far away, to do this beertooth again. Maarten and Ruud Lucassen

I lived in Red Lodge from 1980 to 1986. My family and I traveled over this pass many a time to get firewood. Only place I've ever been where you can cross-country ski to school.

i live in colorado springs and we do get pretty sights during the spring but nothing like this

I grew up in Billings, MT, and our family had a cabin just outside of Red Lodge in the Custer National Forest. Many times we would drive up the 'switchbacks' to get to the top of the mountains. We now live in the Philadelphia area and certainly miss the beauty of Montana!

My family and I missed this beuitiful site back in 2004 leaving Yellowstone in mid June. We decided to take a lower elevation route to the south because the Beartooths were expecting 1 foot of snow that day.
