  • rs 600 is good if you're looking to start trapeze helming, with a really quick boat - musto skiff would be waayyy to big if you're only 14 - ive just moved up from 29ers, bought a 600..they really are quite something, faster than a 9er too, and available really cheaply.

  • @xROLLINDICEx

I am 14 and in the same situation as TheBlackopsification. I am looking to buy a boat, preferably a skiff or multihull. I have been looking at the 29er but i would be the only one sailing a 29er at my club. You said it is a fun boat. Is that while sailing along side another 29er or by yourself? How is it compared to the hobie 16 (if you've sailed it before)?

  • Can Someone Please answer im 12 years old and i have done my stage 1, 2, 3 and 4 and im looking to buy a boat ( Dinghy ) Im stuck between the laser 4.7 And The o'pen Bic!

    Please Help....

  • @TheBlackopsification it depends on which boat has a larger fleet in your area. bic opens havent really hit the american market yet, they are more sailed in europe, i would go with the laser

  • @TheBlackopsification Go for the laser. Bics are terrible boats. So are lasers to be honest, but the bics are just blatently worse. They are over simplified (to the point where the systems are actually worse), slow boats that are built terribly. And there is little/no fleet (bics have ~5000 boats, lasers have made over 200000) basicly im saying both are bad boats, but atleast with the laser you can grow into it (move to radial later) and have a larger fleet around you to race/train with.

  • @xROLLINDICEx Thanks Alot, so if there both bad, what is good?

  • @TheBlackopsification as far as 2 person boats go, id say the 29er is the best youth boat. just an amazing boat. Built incredibly well, holds value and has great duribility (the US national champions boat is about 8 years old now, and still winning events, where in a laser it is only fast for ~1 year) 420s are also decent boats. as far as singlehanders go, the rs100, rs700, musto skiff are the most exciting/well built (with rs100 being the easiest out of the three to sail, while still being fun)

  • @TheBlackopsification But overall, id suggest the 29er. I personally have one and have been sailing it for about a year now. Easily the best boat/most fun that ive sailed (and ive sailed 420, opti, laser radial, along with some multihulls) oh and i noticed your on ps3 for black ops. if you want to play some time, add me. (RollinDice13). 2.01 k/d 14th prestiege

  • @xROLLINDICEx Arent they aysametric ( 2 man ) boats?

  • @TheBlackopsification Well yeah technicly speaking. However, you can single hand them if you set up double tillers (can be done for like 30 bucks). But if you definitly dont have a crew to sail with the majority of days, id definitly be looking at the single handed skiffs (musto is the best, then rs700, then rs100 [the 100 if you dont like/know how to trap]). Any skiff is going to get you the most bang for your buck and will provide the most fun/ will also make you sail better in all other boats

  • best sesh of openbic ive seen

  • a mini 29er cool my kids want 3 of them
