The Easier Way of Putting Videos onto The PS3

i thought the easiest way to save videos on ps3 is to use a usb thumb drive.

at least, this is what i do. now i have like 200 movies on my ps3. average size per movie being 1.4 GB

how do u put the movies from your usb stick to your ps3 ??

put the usb stick into the usb port of the ps3. than u go to the video section of the ps3. ur usb icon will show here. go into the usb stick and press triangle on the file u want to copy. than press copy so ur movie file can copy into the ps3. the ps3 reads most of the video formats. not all of them. i dont have any problems with avi, mp4, or any mpeg files. divx works fine. etc.

does it have to be in a folder directory thats on the usb stick, cos iv got the save files transfering working from usb stick to ps3 but having a blank stick with only a movie on dosnt show in the moviest section or anywhere

u can do 1 of 2 things:

1. press triangle on the usb icon on the XMB (cross media bar)/main menu/dashboard - whatever u want to call it. click on 'display all' and everything will show.

or

2. make a folder name 'video' in ur usb thumb drive. and put ur videos in that folder. than from the ps3 video icon, click on the usb icon. and u will ur videos.

if it's just a standard video with no special containers you don't need to transcode the video file. Just change the extension to divx.

I just save them to my external hard drive from my comp and then hook it up to my ps3 and thats it it so easy.

It can read most formats

just put it on ur.. usb drive

when ur ps3 finds it

press triangle on it

then go show all

then find ur vid

and copy it :)
