  • Wilpon needs to sell the team.

  • @DanKelso agreed. The Wilpons are crippling the team. Hope Mark Cuban is still interested in buying them if Fred decides to sell

  • go Mets. Atleast our fans our loyal. growing up in NYC since 1987, I didnt notice any real proud yankee fans til the late 90s.

  • @RonaldoMexicano

The yankees have always been more popular than the mets even back in the 80s, I tend to notice that most mets fans live in queens or brooklyn, while most yankee fans live in manhattan/bronx.

  • @DarkosApprentice I agree with how you base Mets/Yankees fans from different boroughs. I grew up the only Mets fan on my block in the Bronx but you'll still see them in the Bronx although its nothing like the amount of Yankees fans there. I honestly can say living there, I didnt see any yankee fans boasting yankee pride til post 96' After that I noticed people in my neighborhood putting yankee banners, flags, and sticker decals on windows, cars, stores, and other small businesses in the area.

  • @RonaldoMexicano JOE D

  • This season is when our team needs us the most! LETS GO METS!!! -3

  • Know every word...

  • cocaine is a helluva drug

  • I really miss all the swagger, balls and attitude this team had. We need to develop another team like this. Even though Mike Pelfrey is not the best pitcher we have, he shows that grit that this team needs. He is not afraid to be confrontational with opposing players. I thought we had that in Mike Piazza until he showed no balls in the Roger Clemons incident. I'm not saying we need a brawling team but we do need a team with balls, who are not afraid to play tough and take out anyone in their way

  • 86 baby, greatest ballclub ever...F-ck the Yankees!! and f-ck Philly too!!

  • HELL YEAH!!!!!!!GO METS!!!!!!!

  • Being from NY and now living in Philly I get so much shit for being a Mets fan. Well screw the phillies fans, LETS GO METS.

  • @planelover3640 thats probably because no here likes losers

  • As a Yankee fan, this video makes me nauseous.

  • @BxBaseball As a baseball fan, Yankees fans make me nauseous.

  • This is why cobain killed himself

  • Why no orange & blue seats in the new ballpark???!!!!

  • @mingrassia33 The seats in Shea were orange, blue, green and red.

  • My middle name is shea because I was born in 87... :)

  • LETS GO METS!!!

  • what an abortion.

  • New York has six professional sports teams, and the mets.

  • @wallstreetatheist hahahaha right on. go PHILS!

  • @wallstreetatheist What makes the sorry-ass Knicks, Jets or Rangers any more "professional" than the Mets?

  • @terracottapie If you lived in NYC, you would get the joke. It's from Manhattan Mini Storage advertising.

  • @wallstreetatheist I live in NYC, and I get the joke. I was responding to their stupid argument in the ad, since you re-stated it here.

  • Oh man did that bring back memories, my dad God rest his soul was the hardest hard core Mets fan there ever lived, he knew more about baseball then any other man I knew, BOO FOR THE YANKEES, LET'S GO METS!!!

  • Keep Jose Reyes a Met! Go to payjose.com and sign the petition!

    payjose.com

  • all you Mets fans can go suck a dick

  • @PlanetXeno and u can suck your mothers

  • I really wish we had won it in 1999, 2000 and 2006. We should have won the World Series all 3 of those years!

It's OK, we'll win it this year.

We've got the teamwork to make the dream work.

  • 25 years ago this baseball season, That the mets win the world series.

  • 2011 is our year!

  • It was a lame song in 1986 and its still lame 25 years later.

  • @paktype not lame about this song rather listen to this then som shitass mets rap cover over the song black and yellow

  • players on the mets current roster were born in 86 lol

  • No one knows who would of won the game if Buckner makes the play. The biggest misconception of that play is the Mets would of lost if Buckner makes the play. Incorrect the score would of been tied and gone to further extra innings. And the Sox have than just Buckner to blame. They had two with no one and couldnt get the job done.

  • They are real-life super heroes

  • @xhemexx hey buddy mookie beats him to the bag anyway

  • MOOKIE BEATS IT OUT ANYWAY BABY!!!

  • Let's go mets

  • @zicon6 1. I KNOW Pagan is an outfielder...I watch the games, thank you

    2. Where'd you hear that, just checked the news online, can't find a single thing even saying he's thinking of leaving the Mets, let alone that he's going to the Yanks...source?

    LET'S GO METS GO!

  • @obiwanobiwan13 oh I meant to say Pedro feliciano.

  • @zicon6 *sign

  • The memories from this magical season will be with me FOREVER!! I am from St. Louis...born and raised in Cardinals country and since June 15, 1983 I have been a DIE HARD Mets fan! Just ask my daughter SHEA!!!!! A true fan is a fan that takes the good with the bad! Omar's gone, Jerry's gone! LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YA GOTTA BELIEVE!!

  • Geez I wasn't alive yet, but this as well as most of the late 80s was when the Mets were the toast of the town.

  • I don't care what ANYONE says, I enter every season thinking it's going to be the year...even if we're in the umps b June, damnit, they may be bums but THEY'RE OUR BUMS!

Mets fans love their team a HELL of a lot more than cranky Yankee fans!

And unlike Phillie fans, they can actually form a whole sentence without cursing!

Go on, roast me for that, I don't care...I live in California and have never even BEEN to NYC (want to move there) but I've loved them my whole life!

    LET'S GO METS!

  • Happy days are abound now... its just a matter of when, just like the song says.

  • Every single person in this video is on cocaine.

  • Who are the poeple in the insets near the end? I recognize a couple like Ed Koch but the video is too fuzzy to read the names.

  • @44032 all I can recognize other than Mayor Koch are Howard Stern and Tony Bennett. I'll have to dig around in my mothers basement and see if I can find the VHS from back in the day!

  • 2:23 Yeah, this was back when you were allowed to smoke in the ballpark.

  • This team had a swagger our talented-but-tormented boys NEED!

And that comes in part from the manager...

    Dump Jerry Manuel!

Wright, Reyes, Pagan, Thole, Ike...good infield!

    Santana, Niese, Dickey, Pelfrey...good rotation!

    Pagan's been anohter great surprise!

Feliciano has carried the load out of the bullpen!

But aside from them--we CAN do this, I still believe this team can at least contend, but it needs another starter, another reliever...and Maneul GONE!

    Let's Go Mets Go!

  • i love this video

  • The good old days of the New York Mets

  • Comment removed

  • LETS GO METS

  • @xhemexx And on top of this, THEY HAD ANOTHER GAME! Buckner doesn't make or break that game, and he certainly didn't make or break game 7.

  • Lets go Mets go!

Keith Hernandez and Gary Carter were awesome leaders!

  • we are gonna make it happen

  • @xhemexx IF if if ..you are lucky the Red Sox have turned it around. I still say they need to knock that warehouse they call a ball field down.

Sorry, I hate old stadiums. Fenway is a green tin can.

  • How can anyone compare the 86 team to this one? It is just sad.

No plans. Lazy players who get drunk and do not live up tot their contracts.

    Play for the fans.

  • @xhemexx red sox also lost game 7 AFTER buckners error.

  • 1st place in 2010

  • Actually, this song was played regularly (at Shea and on radio and tv, too, I think) in either 1981 or 1982. I remember for sure; Hubie Brooks was still on the team. I always liked it. I don't even recally hearing it after the early 80s. But the video is a good one, and obviously this was made during or after the '86 season (being that Lee Mazzilli is wearing #13 in the video). I loved the song. Great video, too, but, as I mentioned, the SONG actually debuted in '81 or '82, not '86.

  • Greatest team in Baseball History

  • i remember this from back in 86 and i still get all choked up and fired up seeing this all these years later they should do a remake with the new regime LETS GO METS!!!!

  • The good old days.

  • Why is it titled "world" series when it's only played in the USA?

  • @mjpt57 agreed. Just call it a national championship. Or North American championship just to aknowledge Canada.

  • M.y E.nire T.eam S.ucks

  • I used to watch this video all the time when I was younger. Thank you for uploading it.

  • @xhemexx People always say that, but even without Buckner's error the game would have headed to the 11th inning tied and with all the momentum on the Mets side. The game was already tied; it's not like if Buckner makes the play the game is over.

  • @Weirsy06- Your right about that. If it wasnt for Buckners error it wouldve been a hell of a World Series!! It was a good World Series overall

  • Comment removed

  • @Weirsy06 Actually, chances are, Mookie still would have been safe.

  • @Weirsy06 exactly i dont know why everybody thinks that lol, anyways LETS GO METS!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Weirsy06 Not to mention the Red Sox still had their chance in game 7..

  • @Weirsy06 The Mets had alreayd tied the game up on Stanley's wild pitch. And Mookie says that he would have beaten Buckner to the bag even if he'd fielded the ball. Look at the video: he could be right.

  • @Weirsy06 and its pssible even if buckner doesn't let the ball go through his legs that mookie still makes it to first

  • @Weirsy06 I don't think Buckner was beating Mookie to the bag anyway. Not a chance. If it didn't go through his legs, at least he would have saved the run from scoring, but the inning would have continued with first and third and the game tied.

  • This has got to be the worst God-awful-est theme song and video ever! What a cheesy take-off of the Stupor-bowl shuffle! And Gary Carter looked like a homo!

  • 108 regular season wins and world champs!

  • They should play this song at CITI field.. it's fun.. but the Wilpons aren't fun. They suck.

  • This 2010 looks like the 2009 and 2008 and 2007 teams not the 86 team.

    Fire OMAR and JERRY!

  • @JR08620 Not gonna lie, they're looking pretty decent right now. I live in Philly (sucks I know) and my friend, who is a HUGE Phillies fan flat out said "Shit man, I'm actually scared of the Mets this year". All I can say is, we'll see. Also, how about this Ike Davis character, good or what?!

  • @JR08620- The wilpons and omar suck balls...I want to the Mets vs. Yanks in the world series! Im a yanks fan but I feel for the underdog at times...Baseball is all about money..just like how you have players on the DL over a dam broken nail,lol....

  • LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

  • Is this Autograph?

  • Now this was a hell of a team. A real wild bunch

  • Best team in the MLB ever

  • Buckner had this buzzing through his head in Game 6.....

  • We have the most royal fans..even they r bad we still r big fans.,.. GO METS!!!

  • PISCOPO!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Greatest, most fearless Mets team of all-time.

  • I have the plaque from this winning season.. Yea Baby, Go NY

  • i love this song

  • ALPHA

  • kevin mitchell should have punched piscapo..

  • mets should do much better this season,,

  • thats the best team i

  • Just bring back the days when Buddy Harrelson was playing short...now THOSE were the days! I remember all too well when my parents took me & a then-boyfriend to Shea a few weeks before my folks moved overseas in 1971. I still have the Mets logo cups that I bought that evening..I think I'll be buried holding one of those cups!

  • The Apple Will Rise

  • Oh sure, all the fun stuff happened after I moved out of New Jersey in '84! Oh well....but I watched every single game on TV & adjusted my work schedule around every playoff & championship game. Great to see Joe Piscopo here-he sat 8 rows behind me when I was at a game Memorial Day weekend '82

  • LET'S GO METS GO!!!

Believe in spite of the Wilpons and Omar's ineptitude.

  • @LR2K10 I concur with you 100%. Believe!

  • @LR2K10 One problem solved, one to go.

  • YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got the teamwork to make the dream work!!!!!

Let's go Mets go 2010!!!! There's no stopping us now!!!!

  • Mets best team of all time

  • I remember when this first came out it was awsome!!!! 86 Mets

  • 2:25-2:29 I choked up a bit...thinking back to Piazza's home run after 9/11...

  • That was our finest hour........

  • Comment removed

  • you know i say everthing wen i go to the citi field !LETS GO METS EVERBODY SAY LETS GO METS! I WANNA HEAR YOU

  • No else is respondin', but I will....LET'S GO METS!!! AND FUCK THE YNAKEES!!!!

  • after francouer learns to throw on target and pagan learns to run bases ,,,i know we have a lot of injuries ,,,but they lack fundamentals big time

  • That was awesome baseball in 1986, my dad loved that team.

  • anybody see game 2day???? its the smae mets from 3 years ago great wait till next year it will be our year.......................................ive been sayign that so much over last couple years for baseball n football i sound like a broken record no matter what lets go mets n jets

  • who saw the game today! thats a winning team right there!

  • i am a mets fan. i dont know why. they are the most depressing team to watch. BUT!,, this video made me less depressed. now i will watch them loose again today! lets go mets :(

  • @nealflex They're depressing to watch because players that they push and think are good i.e David Wright and Jose Reyes (David in particular) who possesses a swing that rivals one of a little leaguer, and mean while a player like Mike Jacobs, who's REALLY tremendous but lacks the sexy stats, gets look down upon, just really sad.

  • @31baskinrobbins i'm almost positive that is the single most absolutely retarded thing i've ever heard in the history of the world.

  • This video reminds me why i love the Mets, and makes me less pissed off about hte Mets now. Slightly

  • us true met fans arent fazed by this season or any season like it. We were still better then the days of Anthony Young and being the worst team in baseball...you're not a true fan unless you accept the fact that they can have the best talent in the world yet its management and executives who are the dead weight on the team making bad decision...That's what it is in this team...the management has ALWAYS sucked...I'm use to it, it doesnt faze me...

  • wont get better until the wilpons sell the team, and the training staff gets fired

  • so true...

  • remember back in the early 90's the worst team money could buy, and 2002 when all those players we traded for couldn't win. so yeah we lost this season, but we lost with below average players. i'm a die hard met fan and i always will be.

  • amen brotha

  • o gosh I said "I mean" a few times there lol

  • Hmmm...... Well the Mets from what I know now since Im a big fan and I was born in the 90's, I know 1986 was like the greatest year for Mets fans haha Mets n Yankees in Yanks Stadium they won the o um anyway(lol) we had our down points but we're still good I mean we suck sometimes I hav 2 say but I mean its not like the Yankees didnt either I mean they always brag about the World Series but how many times have the Mets won games and how many times have they beaten the Yankees ? C'mon thers more.

  • even with all the injuries we still got the team work 2 make the dream work! LETS GO METS!

  • Am I the only one who notices these guys are MUCH skinnier than today's players? I wonder why? -_____-

  • Besides Missing players the Mets are Missing Fundementals do you agree ?

  • Yes. It's called we have a bad training staff in all levels of the team.

  • god i watch this and i keep thinkin about how terrible we are now

  • man i miss them.I wish we were the 86 mets

  • Let's go Mets :)

  • Best year of my life!!!

  • i was born 4 years later :,-(

  • It feels like a century ago I was sitting in front of my TV watching Bill Buckner's infamous error

  • Well, it's not that Buckner was a sucky fielder (which he was anyway), it just showed what a great hitter Mookie was!! I was LOSING IT watching that play-then broke out the rum & cola!

  • great way to celebrate a mets win!!!!!!!

  • The '86 Mets were the Bad Boys and Pranksters of baseball. Everyone who wasn't a Met fan HATED them with a passion.

But, just like the title of a book written about the '86 Series... The Bad Guys Won.

    Go Mets.

  • 1986 - the year to remember! Lets go Mets! :)

  • for all their problems that team was as good from top to bottom as any team I can ever remember,

  • I would love to find out what group of musicians and singer did the music to this video. It sounds very mid-80s with the melodic vocals and synthesizers.

  • it sounds very mid-80s cause it was made in 86.

  • I remember these days Mets nkicked ass come on lets do it again !! I was there, ticker tape parade great feeling all around!

  • I'm brazilian and a grand fan os Mets..

    Let's go Mets....suck it yankees

  • Yeah, cause THIS is something to be proud of...

  • i have this on VHS!!

  • same here its such a good tape

  • never gets old : )

  • does any1 like nick johnson as our 1st baseman this year

  • No way; we're too banged up to trade, nobody would want to trade with us, because anyone we'd part with is on the disabled list.

Besides, I REALLY like Daniel Murphy at first base. Young, he has a good swing, is already a solid .280+ slap hitter, and is decent defending.

Young, already solid, and with the potential to develop, I like Murphy a lot.

If they keep Ramon Martinez at second and Murphy at 1st-

Wright, Reyes, Martinez, Murphy- all young and talented, improving together.....

  • Yeah, tat trade wouldn't work; I think we'll be OK with Johan, Maine ad Pelfrey, and Livan's not doing too badly, not spectacular but at least a .500 pitcher. We need a good 4th pitcher, so I say either promote a AAA prosepct and see how he does, trade for a mid-level pitcher, or give Oliver Perez one more VERY BRIEF chance- 3 games, if he doesn't perform.........

And anyway, I like Murphy a lot- good .285 or so hitter, good glove at 1B, and young- he has potential, Delgado's almot done....

  • now that the jays are collapsing it wud b the perfect time to get hallady

  • THATS WHAT IM FUCKING SAYING MAN

  • Can we have an edited version of this song as our 7th inning song instead of sweet caroline?

  • Comment removed

  • this is probably what turned strawberry to drugs

  • Mets should get hallady, and rios...trade murphy, pelf, and fernando marteniz..I'm in ojn the trade how about you guys

  • The Jays would want more.

    A LOT more.

  • Is Jesse Orosco still pitching somewhere?

  • Nope, retired.

  • 2009 is OUR year to SHINE LETS GO METS

  • Also read "If at First" by Keith Hernandez. It chronicles the 85 season. Leaves out the coke and hookers part, but good for nostalgic reasons.

  • Let's not forget that he made Dave Kingman lose his position at first base. I'm still P.O.d about that more than 25 years later

  • Read "The Bad Guys Won" By Jeff Pearlman its all about the 86 Mets!

  • Thanks for the suggestion. Reading it now. :-)

  • Your welcome just recently i had mine signed by Mookie Wilson himself!

  • Mookie's the man! My all-time favorite Met! That's sweet!

  • personaly mine was Ray Knight but Mookie is great too n.n

    Mooooookie!

  • I read that book lol. The craziest part was how they trashed the hotel rooms lol.

  • cooters-gate

  • Heh i like the part with Roger McDowell hes funny as heck

  • this and the Bears vid were the best. Same year, same outcome. LOL

Maybe sports teams should do more videos. LMAO
