@boytoyville, I know the story of Dominique and who coached her and when, but still Bela and Marta did their part in training and forming her into a champion, yes Alexander coached her for a few years and no shit he coached Alyia I know that, but she still could have thanked them, it would have been the proper thing to do.

@DowisK Bela did not get Domi to the Olympics, he only took over once she was fully developed as a gymnast. Her skills and competitions were already successful. She won junior nationals in 1994 and only from 1995-1996 for 2 years tops did Alexander Alexandrov not coach her. Bela wanted all the credit that is why she thanked Alexander and not Bela. Alexander developed Alyia Mustafina who is the current world AA champ. Make sense now?

wow I cant believe she didn't thank the Karoylis in her speech, what a blow to them..they did so much for her, they got her to the olympics, what a diss, but yea she is an amazing person and gymnast, i was always a fan of hers. I didn't know her father died however.

@boytoyville Dominique had a few unpleasant experiences, and yes, the Karolyis should not have any important role in gymnastics due to their previous abuse in Romania and the USA. But that is no excuse to be a whiner. Notice the passive-aggressive way she carefully leaves them out in her thank-you speech. Without them, she would have been a mediocre level 7. Regardless of the stupid things they did, they taught her her sport.
