I loved this game even though it was insanely difficult when I was a kid. I think I spent an entire weekend on this chapter on lord. I had the shivers when I beat the wizard and Enric said "Live by the sword, Die by the sword". The dialogue during the credits made me laugh too.
It's not the greatest game, but it made me satisfied when I finally beat it because of all the effort that went into progressing past every enemy encounter. Sad that games aren't using a control scheme like VSIM.
Hi, I have a problem in Limb From Limb expansion. I passed the Altar Room, I summoned the Ogre, I killed all Greebles and Mantis, I took the Scroll of Opening and I don't know what to do now. I can see a big brown door, but I can't pass it. Do you remember, what should I do?
I have found only one power room and I can't find the others. Where can I find it? You didn't show the way to them in you video. When I'm passing the big red door, the sorcerer kills me. Can I come back from there to the other power rooms, or I have to start this chapter from the beginning? Please help me.
@MKMegaTrilogy The reason i didn't show the order that i went is because i had to plan out a confusing (time consuming) "save trigger" and "heal" order to actually make it through the level (this is hard mode).
To answer your question: yes, you can backtrack. The 3 rooms with the fountains in them contain hidden entrance ways to crypts which contain teleporters to the crystal room things.
These videos are not intended to be a comprehensive walkthrough, they're simply meant to be nostalgia.
@Greymerk Thanks, I already found them all and defeated the Sorcerer. Your walkthrough helped me a LOT in this game, big thanks. Now I want to play the expansion levels, but I don't know how - when I choose LFL Quests, it opens the screen with all my saves. All I can do is load again the last fight. So what should I do to open the LFL levels?
@MKMegaTrilogy I don't actually know. I haven't tried playing limb from limb in ages. I can't remember how it worked. Good luck though, i remember the expansion being harder than the original game... maybe one day i'll do it. but i don't know if i can take any more hard mode DBTS
@Rosvolainen I think if it ever happens it'll have to be done by an independent developer. One day maybe i'll try to tackle it myself. I do love vsim control.
There are more levels in the expansion pack. I have that too and maybe sometime i'll work on it. I'll need to work up the nerve the face the thing on hard mode though. I remember it being much harder than the original.
I dont know why people find this game so hard, i have finished the game on all dificulties (i think, its been a while) and the expansion aswell. And i finished the tournaments with a warrior. used to play this on a keyboard + joystick... GREAT GAME
Honestly, i think it's mainly because people don't know how to control the camera. It's also way too much of a learning curve for most people. There's a reason games like diablo 2 and WoW are/were so popular.
In that scene I had to condense about 80 seconds of fighting into 20 seconds of dieing skeletons.
One of the problems of this level is trying to make killing 23 skeletons somehow interesting while fitting it into the 10 minute restriction comfortably.

They need to make a new DBTS. At least that would be a way of putting motion controls to good use.

It's one of those games that never really got "old" in my mind. There's never been anything quite like it.
