There is this upbeat experimental, jazzy kind of song with be-boppy gibberish vocals, and I swear they are referencing at 2:24. Even though I called the vocals gibberish, they are very memorable...pippy poppy pippy poppy... Can someone name that song, or who sings it?
OY demonstrates their understanding of arrangement in "Walk and Chew Gum." I found similar examples in Gene Autry's trill intro to "Jingle Jangle Jingle" and the jazz harmonies of Judy Garland's "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." And in a more abstract sense, Glass' "Koyaanisqatsi." The Freddy Mercury-style dynamic range singing helps, too. Some day "Walk and Chew Gum" will take its place in the VA novelty Hall of Fame.
Craig McCracken managed to get some of his favorite bands to do music for this album. I mean: Optiganally Yours, Cornelius, The Bill Doss, Komeda, Apples in Stereo, Bis, Shonen Knife? All on the same album singing about the Powerpuff Girls? Incredible! I bought this album as soon as it came out because of the artist list.
Dip dap opple dobble pip pap cattle hattle big black bug bit big black bear and made the big black bear bleed shooby-tailer, go pop— poppy-poppy-poppy-poppy.
When I worked at the Granada in Morgan Hill, CA, one of the managers would always play this album over the loudspeakers, which played between shows and (as often happened) if no one bought tickets for a show. So I heard this song countless times in the summer of 2002. That was one of the best times of my life up to this point, so this song brings back awesome memories. Thanks for uploading this.

Go to 3:58-4:34 to hear the optigan disc 'Swing It'! which was used to make this song.
I guess only Mattel (or possibly an owner of an 'Swing It!' optigan disc ) knows the song title, composer and performer of this sample.
I did a double take when I heard the music in this recent Chrysler 2010 Town and County commercial -- /watch?v=8J7iuM4yOpM
Perhaps Optiganally Yours had a part in the music for it....

To be fair to Shooby, his nickname was 'The Human Horn'.
There's even a website for him.
I imagine many of you are saying - I didn't need to know where to get MORE of THAT music!
