I loved how thanks to once opening up to Rose, he gains the courage to answer Martha with all of the answers - shows The Doctor truly is the same man - clever writing from RTD.
I just watched this episode (Gridlock) for the second time, and once again I cried in the end, where the people of New New York sing this and the Doctor tells Martha of the Time War. And just the sight of David Tennant's face when he says "Oh, you should have seen that old planet" finishes it of and the tears start running down my face and I realise once again how brilliant an actor he is...
I cried in this scene when all the people on the motorway started singing it, just showed they still had hope even though they'd been down there for years :)
AW this is just so freaking pretty!!!!!

The hymn is called "Abide with me", written by Henry Frances Lyte in 1847, the melody is 'Eventide' by William Henry Monk, composed in 1861.
The hymn is used during services for the dead and missing of World War I in particular, and other wars.
Being somewhat of a history-addict, and having visited the battlefields and cemeteries in Flanders, this tune gets to me every time I hear it.

@mozaikmuziek You have been to Flanders field... That is one of the most somber fields in the world, along with gettesburd and the Normandy beaches

At 1.58 someone sings a rouge note (If this is in Eb major then its an A natural). Annoying...

@hschan4 Lol I just realised how much of a nerd I sounded by finding that mistake. God damn them indeed for ruining such divine music!

@aarandir You've got some ear I have to say.

@aarandir Yep. You can definitely hear that bogus tone. You'ld have thought they might have noticed during recording.

The scene with the Doctor and Martha was so emotional and touching...
Sometimes people forget just how vulnerable the Doctor is inside.
