  • Does Anybody Know The Music Cut From The Intro To Ask The Manager?

  • @mrgiosb123

    "Russian Dressing" by Walter Murphy

  • It was recorded on my birthday. I turned 9 that year!!

  • Does anyone remember when Ask The Manager had Bill Flynn? Those days were a hoot! I think they got one letter read per show!

  • They answered my letter on an episode of Ask the Manager in August 1990. I wish I had saved the tape. I did actually tape it, but the audio didn't come out.

  • I use to die laughing at some of these episodes!

  • I'd like to see some episodes from the Stu Tauber/Meg LaVigne years.

  • Thank you VERY MUCH for bringing a video with Meryl Comer to YouTube! Back then, I thought she was just an amazon queen!

Nowadays, she has been an advocate for the Alzheimer's cause since her husband has that illness. There are some things online about her husband, Dr. Harvey Gralnick, and herself. My regards to them during this struggle.

And if it isn't inappropriate to bring this up - Dang, she still looks great!

  • You Should Know... It's Your Business. Other than that... Palpable Tension for Sure Astounding Quality Image

  • ALL stations should be REQUIRED to have a show like this- I remember seeing a few on Sacramento area stations up til around 1985.

I have a feeling nowadays any complaints would be answered with "We'll do whatever the hell we want- fuck you!"

  • This is hilarious. It reminds me of SCTV, only it's real.

  • I remember seeing this episode in 1982.And I watched ATM faithfully for 14 years. . Thank God for YouTube.. to watch and remember..The great days of WSBK TV38 are over..

  • fantastic! i always watched this.. first with this GM... then later with Daniel Berkerey

GREAT stuff , keep it up and thanks!

  • And someone in the traffic department must have been asleep at the controls, because the Red Sox-Orioles promo was one day old -- they played the doubleheader the previous day (and split it).

The Saturday doubleheader also happened to be the Red Sox' first two games of the season. It turns out that several teams started the '82 campaign late. Must have been that beautiful early April weather.

  • I love how Dana Hersey in his voiceover of that promo says "The Boston Red Sox play the Baltimore Orioles in a doubleheader (we hope)". That's great! I also like the fact that TV38 apparently aired quite a few work week matinee games. I miss the old TV38 that much!

  • There was a major blizzard on April 6, 1982 all thru the Northeast & Midwest, which wiped out the Sox first 2 games at Chicago (made up in a twi-night doubleheader later that month), and first game at Baltimore.

  • Stunning quality considering the age of the recording - thanks for sharing!

  • This is fascinating. I've seen GMs (General Managers) do short commentaries, usually uncontroversial in nature. But this is really something, something I'd like to do if I ran a TV station.

  • Very nice!!! If you have anymore clips similar to this, please post them!

  • Wow. A great clip. Loved this show. Thanks
