  • My first video with 1000 views. Thanks everybody!

  • Awesome video of that allertor. Love the windup!

  • yep the echo is fine

  • Epic echo. Awesome video.

  • It works! Yay!

  • gotta love that echo, awesome vid.

  • @amtrak3501 you should have heard it in person!

  • @ND1003 i have before back in 2009 with mohkfry, but never video'd it, just audio.

  • I would bet it's a 3 phase siren wired backwards.

  • Wow, that windup reminded me of the looney toons intro.

  • is there anything nearby i bet that is causing the epic windup and windown

  • Good lord what a dramatic windup! LOL I love it, sounds extra creepy. I thought the one at the Simplicity plant spun the correct way though?

  • @murrfarms nope. only one does, and that's the one that amtrak filmed. The one at the park may have been fixed, but I have gone there 2 months in a row, and it never activated, so mabye they broke it even more lol.

  • @ND1003 Ohh ok, gotcha. I knew at least one of them did, but for some reason I was thinking this guy did too. I agree with the one at the park, seems like it only worked right once when Dan (Siren1000T1) recorded it lol.

  • @murrfarms What causes them to spin backwards?

  • @kasm279 Someone miswired the three power leads either going to the motor or coming from the main service entrance. To fix it, all you have to do is swap L1 and L3 on the incoming power side of the motor starter (or T1 and T3 on the outgoing) and the motor and siren will spin the opposite (and in this case, correct) way.

  • @murrfarms besides going backwards, does it have any other effects? (less output, damage, etc)

  • @kasm279 Less output, since ACA (and ASC too) designed their rotors and stators to be uni-directional, with knife edge stator ports that cut inward at a 30º angle, and L-shaped rotor ports that pushed the air against the knife edges and chopped it much more efficiently than Federal's bi-directional rotors and stators, creating a lot higher output using the same diameter rotor and the same size motor.

  • LOVE that echo on windup!!! :)
