  • GOD!! i switched my grip to western like djokovic, and in my eyes nd the feeling in my body, it improved my playing dramatically

  • Hewitt and Djokovic my favourite players :D

  • ugly as hell

  • beautiful forehand.

  • I don't get this, my coach tells me to stay on the ground when I hit, but I always see pros feet coming off the floor when they hit? Any suggestions?

  • @DillonSinghBasi yes you are suposed to stay on the ground, but!!!! the main point of saying that is so your body stays level throughout the shot. the pros feet leave the ground, but because they r strong they are able to stay level. if you tilt forward a little or backwards the shot could ezily go into the net/ hit the fence.

  • i use a northern grip when i play in a northern region. and when i play in the deep south, i use a southern grip,

  • I really feel for this guy. He is so talented but could not win slams after Aus 08. He tends to lose big matches against Fed. Hope he wins Wimbledon.

  • a time when novak was wilson

  • This is a nice forehand, timed it nicely and with great spin and depth on the ball. He uses a semi western grip and probably the textbook like forehand of semi western grip, good follow through, creates spin on the ball.

  • hes not full western men ... hes semi-western , nadal is a full western

  • He's got the same forehand I've got with much more power and wrist movement. Anyway I use an extreme semiwestern grip

  • Spin is mostly generated by the swing movement of the arm rather than the way the strings hit the ball. If he hits through the ball rather than brushing up against the ball you can still generate a shot with a lot of pace. There is more risk of hitting the ball in the net though

  • he uses semi-western, am i right? or he uses eastern?

  • nop. actually he uses full western

  • really? wow. but how could he hit that hard with full western grip? full western cant afford that much power. So... how could you explain that?

  • If timed perfectly, a full western forehand can be very powerful. See the forehands of Berasategui, Bruguera, and Nadal for examples.

  • I don't think I've ever seen Novak hit a closed-stance forehand.

  • shotguned

  • ma nabijem ti kurac u usta na sred menhentna gubavche jedan retardirani

  • that´s a really beautiful forehand

  • his forehand is so different and that is probably why he is top 3. only the top 3 has uniqueness that I can tell apart. all the other pro seems like an outdated version of tennis

  • hes 4th*

scotlands number 1 andy murray is 3rd.

  • Andy Roddick doesn't stand in the top 3 and I can tell his forehand is better than Djocovic's.

And Novak is no longer in the top 3, does it means he's lesser good?

Anyway, Roddick has a way heavier and faster forehand than Djocovic.

This said, Federer hits flying forehands above 100mph... On youtube you can see one at 97mph. If you consider Roddick hits harder than Federer most of time, then there's quite a margin between the Tennis' A-Rod and Djocovic, even if Novak has a good shot.

  • Thats magnificent what a man

  • Oh, Djokovic...what happened?

  • lol i know rite?

  • You mean novak's father or your own?

  • ya he does since you can pinpoint it that means you must be gay.

  • Just wait for an idiot to write it gives you more power to answer Roddick never pinpoint and still got 155mph record. At best it could help a bit, but it's not much of a difference.

  • works though

  • Sta sere ovaj glupavi kreten iz nju jorka. Samo narkomane, kretene, sataniste i ostala govna mozes videti tamo. Naravno i glupe debele zatucane face.

  • govna jedna usrana

  • He definitely mastered the Western Forehand technique. He even got the wrist pronation right, which is important for that grip. No wonder he's 3rd in the world.

  • what is wrist pronation?

  • It's curving your wrist outward for a spin. Pros rarely do it for their forehand though because you need an extreme grip like Novak's, western grip. Everyone, though, does it on their serves if they use a continental grip which most pros do.

  • novak has a powerfull forehand..

  • nikoga neintresuje o tvom usranom New York City govnetu americko, razumes? Beograd je bolji od cele amerike.

  • jeez, he's amazing at changing the direction of the ball

  • This isn't the 60s where players use only slices. Plus how do you hit a clean winner with a slice forehand? Plus I'm pretty sure pros use the same grip for every surface because it is nearly impossible to get used to one type of grip quickly enough to translate to the different surfaces.

  • thats an extreme western grip not semi western, look at it closely

  • stupid ass. semi? thats a full west.

  • Residence: Belgrade/Serbia

    Champion is born here

  • LOVE his strokes.

  • so good.

  • the amazing part of this isn't really the speed of the forehand its him being able to change the direction of the ball with all that force going against him, it would have probably been 3 times easier to hit it back crosscourt

  • Are you serious? 90 mph? If I could even serve that fast... o_O

  • You get a life, Moron. I am sure you can't even hit a serve ;ike that. Noob

  • Man I just love how a bunch of wanabe's like you two talk sh-t about a 90mph forehand... Both of you chumps probably never even made your high school squads much less college ball. Even satelite players like myself have a hard time popping forehands at 80+mph... so go back to your sh-tty league tennis and leave the real tennis to the pros you hack.

  • I eat satelite players lunches. Get a job and stop living yor mamma's dream!

  • Even though Federer has a "slingshot" forehand, Djokovic's always reminded me of a whip. I just love how it looks.

  • it is crazy to have the raquet turned down like that early and be able to hit it consistently. i guess like rafa, it is more about comfort in tradition than good form

  • the racket turned down like tht is called pronation of the forearm and its used to achieve greater rpms on the ball due to the counter force provided..

  • but again, it is much harder to hit the ball consistently due to the rotating raquet face. for example federer's raquet face stays near to perpendicular to the ground throughout his swing creating a more stable plane

  • no it's not harder to hit consistently with the face turned down...even Roger's forehand does it as with most players. Check out slow motion videos of any player, hell, even videotape yourself.

  • yah, would have to have some decent killer shots to beat roddick, nadal and federer in a row.

  • he has my fav forehand.. looks ugly but soo much body turn

  • what queers gave thumbs down..its the dude's opinion..

  • i know lol

  • Lol yeah.

  • wow
