Indiana has HIP which allows you to have it up to 200% above the Federal poverty level. Your employer can pay half of the premiums that are no more than about $89.00. For the deductible, you pay into a savings account that rolls over if you don't use it, so it stays yours.
There are loads of Free medical clinics and medical camps, as well.
@AppleSouffle Oh, I am NOT messed up. France and the WHO? are you kidding? Did you even watch the whole video? The WHO is a socialist org itself. They take whatever the country reports to them. Socialist countries don't count miscarriages and still births when they report, but the US DOES.
And, why is England now decentralizing Health Care if its so great?
How you doing? I just wanted to comment on your video. I'm from Louisiana, Now living in Germany where we have socialized health care, your right our 82 million people is not 350 but overall in Europe their are about that number covered by this system.
I dont understand your fear for this system. The half you pay through taxes, the rest is covered by your employer. If your unemployed you have welfare. It works wonderfuly.
In the USA you pay close to the same amount of taxes as we do here but without ful coverage health care. The Europeans have been doing this for a while now, and it works pretty well. I dont understand the negative veiws Americans have towards Europe, and the rest of the world. Like we have the best system. We can learn alot from the rest of the world. Stay open minded. Peace
I agree with you about socilaized healthcare. We have a state program here in California called "California Healthy Families Program," and it is very similar to your North Carolina program. The insurance premiums are outrageously low. For example, a single mother can insure 3 or more of her kids for only $51 dollars a month, and that's just if you fall into Category C. It's even lower than that if you fall into Category B. I don't want the government telling me what kind of surgery I need.
I agree with you 100% on socialized health care. If we have socialized health care, not only is it gonna be a bigass bureaucracy, but we're gonna have 50-60% income tax rates just like Denmark and Sweden.
My point was that the individual States already provide many programs and safety nets for low and no income people. And they do a pretty good job. But give it to the Federal Government and its a whole different story. They are experts at two things...spending other people's money and inventing make-work jobs for people they feel indebted to. Or in this case, people whose votes they are trying to buy. Obama's Campaign slogan should have been, "Think you have nothing to sell? SELL YOUR VOTE!
Once again - answer my questions first if you want me to answer yours. You're being rude when you ignore what I say. Let the other person take up space in the discussion too.
So why are so many people lacking health care in the US? And first you say America has socialized health care, but then you say it's the last thing you need. Which is it?
And yes, Sweden only has 9 million people. But do you think America's administrating resources are as slim ours? And do you really think we don't give old people and mentally handicapped people health care? Really? Seriously?
Are the statistics from US health care all wrong? Where can I find the real stats?
Ok, try to pay attention. Fewer people than you think lack health care in the US. That is the first falsehood. Anyone in the US can go to an emergency room and get treatment regardless of insurance or ability to pay. That's the law.
They WILL get a bill, and be expected to pay, but as long as they pay a minimal amount a month, (in some areas $5 a month is all it takes) there is nothing the hospital can do to make them pay more. How is this unfair? How is this system taking advantage of people?
1. I got my stats from The World Health Organization (WHO). And since America is such a wealthy country, seeing how its ranked about #40 in the world makes me think you can do better. And I'm not just saying socializing will be the entire and only answer to your problems.
2. Because I like America. I like the world, and I want it to be a better place. Just like you when you think it was right to invade Iraq (I just assume you do, sorry if I'm wrong on that). We care about others

Gads, this woman is so messed up.
It's common for people without health care to wait until their condition gets so bad that they have no choice but to go to an emergency room.
She threw socialism and communism into the same basket. That's just wrong.
According to WHO, the country with the best health care is ... France!
The Europeans believe in taking care of each other. Whereas in America, most of the wealthy people grab all they can.
There's no moral compass. That's the problem.

"My point was that the individual States already provide many programs and safety nets for low and no income people."
Apparently not well enough, seeing how low the US ranks in the world when it comes to these things.
"Fewer people than you think lack health care in the US.
So the stats lie?
And don't come asking me questions when you've just ignored several of mine. Please answer my questions and I'll gladly reply to yours.

Where exactly do we rank? Give me some actual stats please. Whose stats are they? Where did you get them?

answers:
1. Lacking insurance is not synonymous with lacking health care.
2. I said that the individual states had socialized health care enough. That we don't need the federal government socialize it more.
3. slimmer, and woefully inexperienced with running a business.
4.I was just quoting Dacshle, he said it, not me.
5. at the individual state level. Good luck, we have 50 of them you know.
NOW, answer MY questions
Where did you get your stats?
Why do you care what America does?
bookhound63 2 years ago
1. I don't see how that's denying lacking health care.
2. So what's your solution to make US health care better then?
3. Health care is not a business. That's the kind of thinking that lowers the quality of yours.
4. But I ask you what YOU think, not Dacshle.
5. So the individual state stats contradicts the WHO stats? Hmm, interesting. Maybe because they're not comparing with others.
And yes, answers to your questions coming up in next comment.
