I was a Greek Orthodox myself, until I received Jesus into my life as Lord and Savior. Then I decided to leave the church and join the Protestant churches. Why? Because no one did as they said. Even later is your doctrine of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin, which we don't have, and also the Filioque, which the Orthodox Church calls a heresy. Other than that, there are basic philosophical differences. You consider sin a crime against God. We consider it a symptom of a disease that needs to be healed. etc.

For the Jews, Gehena was the bad part of Hell while the good part (remember, before the Salvation of Christ, everyone went to Hell) was called the Bosom of Abraham. Im very lucky. My Coptic orthodox Faith has only made me more sure of the fact that Christ is Lord. In regards to the miricle of the icons streaming oil. When I was about the age of 12 I gave a picture to my friends Dad who was going to visit a house in TX where this was taking place. Take the last slide -- There is no law to follow. Jesus changed that because we failed! The new covenant is living by grace, not laws. That is not Christianity. Also, it never says we need to get married and have children. In fact St. Paul says otherwise (1 Cor 7:1). I was a Greek Orthodox myself, until I received Jesus into my life as Lord and Savior. Then I decided to leave the church and join the Protestant churches. Why? Because no one did as they said. Hypocrites. I never saw the truth until I met my friend -- and from my friends fruits -- I understood that he was a Christian and that I could believe in what he said about Jesus. I do not feel like the Orthodox church is the right one. I will continue in my next comment

If this was not proof for so many people then maybe we should look at Easter. The Holly Fire which starts in Jerusalem, starts by itself (from the Holly Spirit) and does not burn, has NEVER started on Catholic Easter? It has always happen on the Orthodox Easter. Even later is your doctrine of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin, which we don't have, and also the Filioque, which the Orthodox Church calls a heresy. Other than that, there are basic philosophical differences. You consider sin a crime against God. We consider it a symptom of a disease that needs to be healed. etc.

For the Jews, Gehena was the bad part of Hell while the good part (remember, before the Salvation of Christ, everyone went to Hell) was called the Bosom of Abraham. You would pray to God for a person's soul so that that person might be brought to the Bosom of Abraham, not to shorten a stint in Purgatory. The Roman Church certainly is Apostolic and I believe it has Grace, but not the fullness of Grace like the Orthodox Church.

And if he had, then why isn't the Patriarchate of Antioch the main one? Peter founded the Church of Antioch before he came to Rome. Anyway, when Christ said "you are Peter (the rock) and on this rock I shall build my Church," the second "rock" is Peter's faith, not Peter himself.

@anashkhss no tubes there some icons just suden cry while they pray. in serbia a jesus icon cryed with blood and at analysis specialst sayd its a diferent group of blood than other known. also what hapesn at jerusalem at easter is much above human imagination. but whatever ive explained u i dont care if u believe or not some people would not believe even if jesus would come in flash and bones and would hit wid hand friendly on their shoulder.

Im very lucky. My Coptic orthodox Faith has only made me more sure of the fact that Christ is Lord. In regards to the miricle of the icons streaming oil. When I was about the age of 12 I gave a picture to my friends Dad who was going to visit a house in TX where this was taking place. I dont want to go into detail, but the Grace of God was with me and showed a totally different type of miracle to me.

Not the catholics splitt off the church but the "orthodox". Photius and Cerularius were heretics and mainy responsible for the church division.
Cerularius had no authority to excommunicate, especially after he was excommunicated himself. He also violated the emperor's privileges. The eastern schism is based on the disobedience of those two heretics. Please don't ignore these facts.

Btw. even "orthodox" (Photius-Celarius-schismatics) fallow certain authorities like the patriarchs; it can't be otherwise. Also there isn't "the" orthodox but various "orthodox" (eastern schismatic) groups that have different views even on basic matters of belief.
The Catholic Church will forever stay the only true Church of the Lord, my friend. No matter what celularians, protestants or elsewho says.

To me it means to totally believe and trust in God. To believe that He has saved me and that I am going to heaven not because I am some wonderful sinless person but because His Son died for me. Jesus Christ paid for my sins on the cross and now I am Born Again by His Spirit.
I could not and did not did not earn my salvation.

God does not have a mother! Mary was the mother of the human Jesus not the mother of his deity.
That title came about at Ephesus where they worshipped the demon goddess Diana the Mother of God so they gave Mary a demonic title.

You make the same error as the Romans! Intercession and mediatorship are two different things.
We are called to be intercessors but mediatorship is only by Jesus Christ.
That is not the fullness of the Gospel but a warped version of it.

So in actual fact the Pentecostal churches in that area are closer to the NT model. (NOT Word Faith)
Neither do they have the superstitious beliefs of the RCC and Orthodox re Mary & wafers turning into God and kissing & worship of images.
The Ante-Nicene Fathers are useful but they are not the inspired Word of God.

@IDH77 and what are those spiritual gifts or yours?yes it does happen here,the lithurgy is a divine service full of sipirituality,most people who have gone there,including me, really feel the divine charge connected with the service.The church is to be the visible expression of Christ in the community. It’s where people should be able to experience that. The line between heaven and earth, as it were, is extremely thin.as with the icons and the eucharist i could explain in detail if you want.

But to pray to an object is idolatry. To kiss it or to believe that it has any intrinsic power to get you to heaven is also idolatry. Deut 4:15-19
Salvation is by faith alone without any works. Eph 2:8-10, Rom 4:1-5
I am talking about the biblical spiritual gifts of tongues prophecy discernment etc. See 1Cor 12 to 14.

I have nothing against Liturgy as such. I attended an Anglican Church for a few years and there was nothing wrong in it except child baptism. (Another argument altogether)
