I saw the Plasmatics at the Halloween Ball on the UF campus back around 1982. It was and still is the most exhilarating concert I have ever experienced. Wendy and the band were fabulous! I ended up in a tree so I could see the stage and all the craziness going on around me. People running around naked, screwing one another, smoking dope....bikers surrounding the field where the stage was set....awesome!

Totally different kinds of female singers. BTW if you think the Damned was great then it is obvious you don't understand what Wendy and the metal/punk genre are really about. The Damned was silly goth rock fodder much like The Misfits were, lots of people like to make reference to those bands as huge influences on punk but it's all hype

It wasn't until later the Damned went a bit dodgy with albums like Phantasmagoria and Anything. Listen to the Damneds earlier stuff and you'll see how amazing the band was. The Misfits are also a massive influence, can't see why you'd say it was all hype???
