  • shit nice man! Wasn´t prepared of this, best cover of this song so far.

  • @MrAcousticbluegrass Thanks for the compliment and subbing, 'appreciate it,

    Cheers,

    Rudy

  • nicely done.

  • i listen and play this song over and over. u r good! love that southern accent! clear voice and great guitar playing...thanx for the experience!

  • most excellent....good voice....i can see Harry Dean Stanton....

  • hey, great voice! thanks for that cover, wonderful version of that classic!

  • nice job.

  • Great tune. Nice images from the Steven Segal flick "Fire Down Below'.

  • This song is special for me. My Father and Mother were creamated and their ashes spread in the Green River. There is a little cemetary close to the the power plant that they were not alowed to touch. IT is my Family Cemetary that I had no idea existed until a few years ago. It is known as the McDougall Cemetary to all the people in the area. Thank you John for remembering Paradise for all of us.

  • A song for all times. My father, his father, his grandfather, his great grandfather... were born in Muhlenberg Co.

  • Wow. Well done, Sir. Saved this to my favorites.

  • great job! I remember from when I was a young boy my dad played this on his guitar...it has alot of meaning to me since my mothers side of my family came right from parts. It's a beautiful song but one cannot deny the sadness of it...so many beautiful places have suffered the same fate in the name of "progress"

  • this reminds me of my grand father

  • Nice job, I love this song! What is the strumming pattern you are using?

I am new to the guitar and Im having trouble figuring out strumming patterns.

  • My best friend of 31 years would always sing this song to me. She got killed in a car wreck on March 28, 2009. I miss her so much...Nobody could sing this song like she did.....

In Loving memory of Dee Annette Smith

  • Very nice job on a very fine song. Thanks for loading this.

  • Born, raised in and love Muhlenberg County.

I miss it so much. It'll always be apart of me.

I love my roots. No matter what anyone says.

  • All a man can say is "what a F#*kin' shame", and not much has changed! Wall St., the "bottomline" and the almighty dollar is all that matters...WTF !! It's CRIMINAL and our govmnt lets it happen.....that's why this country is in the shape that it's in, DAMN !....see how ya can get tied-up in the emotions of a great song :)

  • Super gezongen en gespeeld!

Clearly captured the original emotion of the song !

Prine need not be ashamed on hearing this!

    Cheers from Holland

  • and daddy wont you take me back to muhlenberg county down by the green river where paradise lay. im sorry my son but your too late in askin mr. peabodys coal train has hauled it away

  • I am from Kentucky, and I grew up on the Green. Not too far from MC as well.

  • has anyone john prine with cowboy jack clements

  • what

  • Great job singing a great song...Thanks

  • I love this song , I live in Kentucky ,and am only an hour from Mulehnberg county.

  • Great job, I however must comment on the fact that someone gave a thumbs down to the below comment about "Clean Coal". Whomever gave that thumbs down has clearly missed the entire point that Prine was making in this song. Coal mining destroys nature and beauty, period. Clean, dirty, whatever. It kills the land. Pay attention to the song, his childhood version of Paradise gone because of the progress of man.

  • @cgraber but it keeps your lights on

  • Really great !!

  • o and nice job with the song u sang it great

  • im from the great bluegrass state this song means alot to me, i may not be from the western side but im from the eastern side and its just as great!

  • I live in Muhlenberg Co

  • Great song!

    Clean coal? No such thing!

  • That sounded great,, Such a tragic song to me. I Love it.

  • @Biznass420 Yea I agree with you....its a beautiful song but it harbors alot of sadness....
