@Whizzer1 There's plans to get the APT-E for it's engines working & doing tilting demos. Be good if it could have a main line cert, think what a trip that would be on it??
i think its shildon in the summer (2009) i went to the nrm in york and there was a apt there not the apt-e the apt-p i think its called and they said it had been moved to where i think is shildon
This video was filmed last November in 2008. While I was there, towards the back of the museum is a APT-P power car. Both the APT's where there at Shildon the year before, as we visited it in oct 2007 also. The remaining APT-P is at Crewe railway heritage museum near the station. I'll have to make another visit to Crewe to film the APT-P. Cheers.
Really it's two. The APT-e as seen here. & The APT-p at crewe. The APT-p would of run with two power car's. So the power car at shildon i'm not sure which APT-p set it was out of.Still at lest we have both examples still with us.Cheers.
@SNAKEMAN742 yes there is a NRM but its a smaller one than the york one they have the rocket and the mallard at Shildon but at york in the works place they had the flyingscotsman tender because she is being restored £250,000 for the flyingscotsman to run again.
Be nice :-) mate. Have a look on YT to see if you can find any videos of when it was running. I have a BTC video showning this in action, awesome stuff. By the way the engines on this are Gas Turbines, cost a bomb to run so i'm told.Cheers.
i saw this on the NRM website i love the APT and the DELTIC prototype one how many items are they here at this NRM becuase alogether there are 291
