  • Haha 'popodom to mcdonalds' now that's punny!

  • I've been looking for this for years! McDonalds can burn in hell, but I remember me and my friends finding this hilarious in the cinema and the advertising team's attention to detail is brilliant.

  • Even the clothes & hairstyles are late 70s/early 80s.

  • Ha ha spoofs those old cinema ads brilliantly. I always remember the chalk board type thing at the end advertising the local Indian restaurant, and they even put in that quick ending too.

  • amazing attention to detail in this advert! i've seen so many dreadful local ads in cinemas

  • Yes this was a promotion on the TV in 1999....It was a parody of Cinema Adverts from the 1970's which really were as cheesey as this!!

  • This is the best TV advert ever made! I don't understand why people went on about how great that crappy Cadburys gorilla drumming ad was; this one is clearly a million times more entertaining.

  • I remember that ad well, and the 1970's cinema ads it spoofs (being 44 years old). Terrific!

  • Absolutely brilliant, thanks for posting! I'm pretty sure the footage at the start was actually used in several curry house ads made by Rank advertising in the 70s & 80s, starting with the line 'you don't have to fly to india to enjoy delicious indian cuisine...'

  • @RichieA70 Yeah - At the start I think that is the genuine footage.

I remember that adrupt ending that they managed to portray in this advert. I'm sure alot of viewers just think this video on YouTube stops too quickly, but I do remember the original Rank adverts being that way in the cinema too.

  • lol! i remember that ad!..one of the better ones!..thaks for uploading!

  • Very Funny.

  • lol "Popadom to a MacDonalds restaurant to ..."

  • One of the better McDonald adverts and a well made spoof of those old 1970s cinema adverts. I suppose you've got be of a certain age to appreciate it...Boy I feel old..!!! LoL.

  • Hahaha!!! Is that Julian Barratt???

  • Oh i see :P

  • That was the whole idea. They were spoofing the old 70's cinema adverts
