On internation waters israel has the right to enter any ship that intends to enter their territory. Since the ships were 'turkish land' it can be seen as an act of war by turkey, if anything.

They are also allowed to do this outside the blockade, but only on international waters.

@mixmansta The international laws, which turkey has signed too, state that a country has the right to uphold a naval blockade on its naval territories as long as they don't conflict with territorial waters of other sovereign states, nor block the passage to and from them. They have the right to uphold this blockade and enter any possible hostile (even medical) ships that show intent to breach the blockade. They are also allowed to do this outside the blockade, but only on international waters.

according to the san remo petition, a navy that enforces a blockade can stop a vessel that is about to break the blockade even before it enters the blockade area, as long as it is not in another country territory.
(obviously the vessel must be warned first and must have given the chance to turn back, but all sides agree that israel has been warning the flotilla for hours before the incident).

The entire story here Is this ship was filled with people who wanted to get shot at and wanted to become martyrs to create bad PR for Isreal they were filmed saying so before they left for gaza. After all the other ships in the flotilla had surrendured to have their cargo be checked and then sent to Gaza by the isrealies this one refused. The commandos dropped onto the ship one at a time (not an attack strategy) with PAINTBALL guns and sidearms in holsters.

It is international law that says this not me. And ~100 Palestinians die for every Israeli killed. The UN human rights issued a report led my Richard Goldstone. Again according to international law, the blockade of Gaza is crime and Palestinians as well as Palestinian allies-Turkey, Iran, Syrian, Hezbollah. Have the right to break the blockade in anyway including militarily. I know international law seems absurd to you. But the world reserves the right to militarily force Israel law to abide it.

Many a time, my heart goes out for Israel. I don't hear of any protest in any part of the world when an Islamic bomber blows up some innocent Israeli children and women. But every tough action of Israel faces immense scrutiny, autopsy and often unwanted reaction. Why this double standard? Why are we expecting only one side to follow the rules of the game?

I don't think there was anything humane about this so called humanitarian ship. Israel had asked the Turks to give them the aid, and had proposed, that they shall distribute the same to the needy, but the Turks turned down the offer. This clearly suggests that the motive behind sending this ship was much more than what meets our eyes. It was nothing but a heinous political gimmick aimed at generating some bad PR for Israel.
This is how, I as an Indian interpret this episode.
