So what your saying is that itisa not affordable to go to court at all even with the 25% discount you are getting from ppd. Son your always hoping that a letter will resolve your dispute or you out of luck
That's a good point you're making. Let me ask you a couple of questions:
1) Would you go out and retain an attorney to handle a $50 dispute? Even if it was a $500 dispute, the attorney fees would cost more than the money he could recover for you.
2) In a larger dispute, say $5,000-$50,000, would you have the savings to hire an attorney even then? Would you have to borrow against your home?
My point is that for the average family, justice is simply un-affordable without "Pre-Paid Legal"
pardon my bad spelling. I do not belive that all cases are taken care of by a letter and that there is a need to make it really affordable. What you have proven here in what you have said is that PPL is only making it affordable to have letters written and getting legal advice but if you have to go on the offensive to go to court your own your own and you probaly can not afford it.
Are all of the attorneys AV rated? I just checked into the AV rating and it states that only one person has to be AV rated for the entire firm to have an AV rating. So, wil your case be handled by an attorney which is AV rated I guess I am asking. I still want to know I am still asking about the middle income bracket and what you feel an affordable hourly charge is for an attorney.
It's my understanding that IF an attorney is rated, it has to be an AV for him or her to be a PPL Prividor attorney. It is my opinion that those in a middle income bracket just can't afford to retain any traditional attorney for anything beyond a few hours just like they can't afford the cost of hospitalization without medical insurance.
when you say affordable what do you mean? Being able to pay for it without getting money from other means? People do differnet things with thier money. Some people live paycheck to paycheck no matter how much they earn they have thier funds already accounted for. Some people have a surplus of money comming in that they leave alone for what ever or are saving it and not spending it. So, it all depends on what what your doing with your money.
Some peoople just are on a tight budget by the cost of living. Fact is this that anything over $100 for most is like another bill they can not afford and then lets say the attorney wants pass id at the end of the month it would be over 1,000 that is what a retainer is payment up front. If Pre-paid legal does not get the cost of an attorney below the cost of $150.00 then is it really making it affordable what is your take on that?
I have a couple questions... first what do you mean by top rated attorneys and secondly can you define by income brackets the middle class. Finally what in your opinion is an affordable attorneys fee per/hr?
Pre-Paid Legal has a network or 5700 provider law firms throughout the United States and Canada and all of them have an "AV" rating which is the highest rating a law firm can achieve. These attorneys normally charge, depending on their location, an average of between $180 - $350 per hour.... but Pre-Paid Legal members have unlimited access to them for a low monthly fee of $26 per month for the entire family.
