In my opinion picking a best album for Black Dahlia is redundant and damn near impossible. I haven't hated anything they've released. As a band progresses most people hate their newer releases and prefer the first or second CD. For myself I find it quite the opposite. It's not that I hate Unhallowed, it's definitely a HUGE album and killer, but compared to Deflorate I just find it primitive. I don't hate any BDM album actually. This band basically makes my top 5 album list.

Unhallowed was definitely their best album by far. Every album after that sounds too refined for me. I'm pretty sure the vocalist and maybe 1 guitarist are the only current members in the band from that album, which is unfortunate to say the least. Sure the newer albums from Miasma up to Deflorate are solid records, and probably have more talented musicians than were on Unhallowed, but it just doesn't feel like the same Black Dahlia Murder that really captivated me back in 2004.

@GranCaida I started listening to TBDM in the year of 2008\2009 , Deflorate wasnt out yet and the first song i heard was Thy Horror Cosmic...blew my fucking mind...I tottaly agree with you, Unhallowed is their best piece...its like a mix of At the Gates and Cannibal Corpse and they get drunk with Carcass = Unhallowed :D
