a late comment from me.i have one that was new in 2000.i still have it 2day.a great work horse and what you said is true.looked after it will last you a lifetime.
I think these cars are door magnets. I swear, my car has almost no damage (besides a little scrape from my sister) and the only things that bug me are the 10 dings on each side from doors Q.Q
I've got a 2000 s80 too with nearly 120,000 miles on it. It rides real smooth and the volvo dealership takes good care of it whenever there's an issue. The only thing I hate is the front wheel drive... It makes for a very poor turning radius! I get about 17mpg but most of my driving is not on the highway. The car was bought brand new by my dad, went through two sisters, two brothers, and now it's mine. As you can guess it's been "broken in" but it's still a champ!
Did you buy it from a volvo dealership? If so, you can take it to them as long as you have the warranty on the car (we leased it for a while, then finally bought it). If you didn't get it at a dealership, I'm sure you can take it to your local volvo dealership and see what their policy is. They're helpful:)
As a last resort you can take her to a Kragen Auto Parts, buy the oil, and ask them for help. Those guys are trained to do that. Lastly...
I have a 2000 s80 that's basically a carbon copy of this. It has 96,000 miles, and I've had it since 74,500 with no problems whatsoever. The leather seats are much more worn on mine (especially in the front) and the acceleration isn't as great as this guy makes it out to be, but the handling is good. It is a good car and with good maintenance I think these cars last longer than some people make it seem.
Dude. Fuel efficient?? I get 19 mixed driving. Not great for a large-ish sedan...Buick LeSabres (however gross they may be) get 30 mixed. I love my car, but don't be lying about its gas mileage.
Before calling me a liar, why don't you learn a bit about Gas Mileage. These cars are rated by the EPA at 19 City and 27 Hwy which would put mixed driving somewhere in the middle depending on how YOU drive. If you are getting 19 mixed, you either do not know how to maximize your vehicles efficiency or your car has an issue. Other factors such as climate and conditions can cause poor mileage. Also, I have driven numerous S80's all with the same results. You only have one result to post!
not very fuel efficient, but very nice, take care of the car it will take care of u, ive had two volvos
