  • What a phenomenal talent! I had to watch this over and over again. Natural born actress. Try not to fall in love with this woman - impossible.

  • That's just wonderful.

  • "The world may never know.." D:

  • was that acting or was she seriously going to kick him? What a great actress.

  • @Piccolo7126 Seriously!! I'm wondering the same thing! Is there anyone that can answer this question?

  • Wonderful!

  • over the weekend I watched a documentary of Marlene's life and some clips of scenes of movies. Then I tried to do the same with other actresses. While some may have been more strikingly beautiful, none of them fascinate or inspire me the way this woman does. I'll stick with Marlene. :)

  • Marlene wie man sie nicht kennt. Sehr süsse Aufregung und der Wechsel zwischen englischem Singen und deutschem Fluchen ist fantastisch. Tolle Entdeckung!!

  • Marlene is wonderful

  • i bet many people don't realize that at 0:52 she sais "soll Musik sein, ja?" which means "this should be music, yeah ?"

  • @decca003 oh, I didn't realize is was a line of her part :P

  • Something about Marlene that words can`t describe.

This short film is way ahead of its time.

    The comedy here is great.

  • The best part: the end. When she says "Sorry" so cute.

  • Nazis make the WORST piano players Hahahaha.

  • GORGEOUS! Marlene in suptuous black and white!!!

  • This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing. When I was in Berlin, I visited the film museum; where I saw other rare gems...such as her luggage collection. What a woman she was! Danke.

  • great!

  • Спасибо. Немцы простите её. дура баба её запугали.

    Замечательная немка!

  • AMAZING actress. Love how she can act like the sweetest bird in the world and then immediately transform into an angry and intimidating woman.

  • the way she smokes her cigarette makes me want to start smoking.

  • Thanks Fabulous !!!

  • I think pianist was jew :)

  • @maddye69 Maddy, I know you meant that with humor, but we should acknowledge that Marlene left Germany in the early 30's to pursue a Hollywood career. Hitler offered her the royal treatment if she would return but she refused unless she could bring back and work with her favorite director, Joseph von Sternberg, a Jew who escaped Nazi persecution. She became a US citizen and sang to our GI's during WW2.

  • loool how shes getting pissed off with the pianist

  • Does anyone know (in English) what she's saying to the piano player halfway through?

  • Ihr 109.Geburtstag. Es lebe Marlene Dietrich. Patriotin und Pazifistin in einer Person.

Kleiner Fehler, screentest aus dem Jahr 1929.

  • Ihr 109.Geburtstag. Es lebe Marlene Dietrich. Patriotin und Pazifistin in einer Person.

  • Thanks for posting... I've always thought she was more gorgeous before she went to Hollywood. Proves my point.

  • what is she doing with her eyes?! it's very annoying and distracting and I wonder if she's doing it on purpose or not.

  • @jerona Her eyes are saying "I'm too damn good for this shitty song or this stupid screentest." Her eyes are right.

  • LOL!! Love her! >**<

  • I fucking love this video, it seems so intimate to me.. wish there were more like this.

  • She looks like the young Madonna. Amazing that! Two generations apart and even their attitudes are alike.

  • @stefan103 Except that one is a poor imitation of the other.

  • Was the piano playing mistakes part of the audition?

  • @aristideau

... must have been - one doesn't use pianos for ashtrays normally; methinks.

  • @aristideau
