@bobeileen1, As you know, it keeps me busy and the arthrittus under control, but i do love the old designs. Its just a pity that there are so few youngsters taking up the challenge. They may look complex but they both use basic knitting skills. I have about 950 stitchs on the needles at the moment but my last had nearly 2500!
So yes, it does require patience. Now all i need is to find someone to give the shawls to when finished.....
Most intricate work. Much thought and patience required, I'm thinking. designs and concepts from earlier times always interest me. bobh
