Sidi Vertigo Boots and Alpinestars Pants Review

Thanks for a nice review on those boots (I love the Toe pointing technique toward the end).

I can't see how it matters if you use mens gear as long as they fit and work well. I learned a new phrase from this 'Monkey Butt'.. excellent - Thanks again for the nice review.

@bladedancer111 the boots? Well they are to a point. I was in a downpour last week and the only clothing that was dry were my socks! But if you ride longer than an hour in rain they usually start to seep in water.

Hey, I'm not sure if you actually say this in the video, but are those men's Sidi boots? I've been looking at the women's Vertigo Lei ones for a while--is that what you've got? Unfortunately its pink-ish style is the only one available online and I don't know how much I'd like that haha...

@e30Birdy I wear 10.5 in regular shoes, So I should get 11? And my feet are kinda wide do you think i'll have a problem with the fit? And hows the ventilation in the Vertigo boot non perforated

For sure a 11, Sidi boots run small.. i wear a 43 in euro and got a 44 which is the equiv of what you would be getting.

I have a lot of problems in shoes too cause i have wider feet and the sidis feet like a charm. My little toe is crushed in normal shoes unless i wear like k-swiss.

I cant tell you about it yet cause when i got mine it was already cold as hell, i didnt wanna get perforated ones incase i get stuck on a colder day or its rainy. My buddy rides non perfd ones and no problems.

@e30Birdy thanks birdy, I was worried about the width, I was gonna get the SIDI Mega goretex cuz its wider but I'll stick with the Vertigo now. But have you seen the video "Sidi boots worn out after a year of use" it shows the sole worn out, are the soles replaceable on the vertigo? I don't race right now so It should be ok.

If they wear out they wear out..... my driving school teach rides hard and his are 2 or 3 years old and look like new... depends how you treat you equipment.. and if they do i will buy new ones or have them resoled

And as for full gear... I always, always wear it. It just means I have to give myself time to get to work an extra 15 minutes early to get everything off. Too many crazy cagers in Chicago to risk otherwise (and yet there are so many squids here!).

I'm a total noob here, but I was told to get boots a half-size big, because you don't want your toes quite to the end. The theory there is that having a bit of space will save your feet in a crash, so your toes/heel/etc aren't just jamming straight into the concrete, but have a bit of give inside the boot first. I haven't tested the theory yet, though. ;-)

well they did break in and your theory makes sense. The thing is when walking around my toes do hit the end but when on the bike because I'm in a bent position my toes don't hit the end.

Those are cool boots, but I'm more looking into getting the Vertigo Corsa Air to replace my Sidi Scorpions that have like 20k miles on them and the tread is wearing through to the sole.

I'd also rather go with Dainese pants or 1-piece, even though I love Alpinestars for their gloves.and dirtbike gear. I grew up with Alpinestars and Thor on my YZ 250 2-stroke and later my YZF 450 4-stroke.

I had a pair of Sidi Air Champions, they were great for hot weather....Sidi's do fit narrow tho and need some break in time.

yup, that's one of the reasons I got them. I have narrow feet and didn't want my boots wiggling like they have in other boots.

Ok the video played finally after like 5 minutes of hitting refresh. Yeah I wear full leathers 100% of the time now, after I saw some pics of how bad a guy got rashed up at 35mph. So no more jeans for me period. It's not about the knee down, it's about proper body position. Side Rules, also do u wear like a base layer under ur leathers? I wear a base layer always, long sleeve, and full leg length, like underarmor stuff, makes it much better when wearing leathers.
