@BENDOON23 - built in Australia, it was badged as a Holden Torana - in this case an LX model Holden Torana SS A9X hatchback, prepared for racing as a Group C Touring Car.

Were the headlights, taillights and trim the same or different on the Viva? How many Opel Vivas were built with Holden 5.0-litre V8 engines? Which came first? Holden was building this body shape (in 4-door sedan form) as the LH model as early as 1974.

The UC SLX sports came out with a Garret turbo and according to wheels mag, they were quicker than the A9X . There is a turbo UC hatch for sale on Ebay at the moment

L31 is better than an A9X??? L31 is the engine code for a 5 litre, which is exactly what the A9X used. The L34 was the high performance version in the LH Torana. They had the nicer engine, but still had drum brakes and banjo diff. As for the UC turbo, it wasn't a factory thing and it was only slightly quicker over the quarter than an A9X, and the A9X they tested it against was running the tall 2.60 diff, once it changed into second, bye bye UC.

it wouldnt take much to make a a9x replica and you would save an absolute fortune.Teacher at school owned a slr5000 in the early 80's and said it used to run 11's in those days which would have made it a real street weapon back then.

Great video bud! If you still own it don't think of selling it! They are an awesome car! I owned a genuine LX SS 5.0Lt with over 400hp and know what they sit like on the road at 240km/ph. They handle beautiful for what they were in their day! The flare kits work a treat! All the best!!
