I see now that it's set in the 1930's, but that the makes the end montage seem even more rediculous. Cranston the Goat's already geriatric, and they expect us to believe the Miss Dimple hasn't got one grey hair or wrinkle/frown line after 60 years? Who knows? Maybe CGI was developed in the 40's and the movies that would have come out in the 90's came out 40-50 years earlier.

This character was inspired by young Shirley Temple in the movie Dimple, where she was "upstaged for the first time in her career". Shirley was an actress starting from 3 yrs old, sported the same hair do, but was actually nice and supportive of her cast.

That's 40 years, and Darla's still two feet tall and with the face of a five-year-old, so I guess your theory is right.

I have a theory that her parents were once obscenely rich actors, they were holding Darla back from becoming more famous so she ordered them to be murdered then she took over their fortune and used the death of her parents as a way to catapult herself into the spotlight.
