I'm curious How effective the ejection design performs while firing the RFB upward? do the empty casings have enough force during battery to push out the casings in front of it? I would love to see integrated into the butt-stock assembly a small compartment on each beveled side to include a ten inch cleaning rod in each, and the "cheek-piece" to be the "T" handle for them. Also have the grip include a pod for lube vial and an area in the sling point within the butt stock to contain brushes/tools. I seriously doubt that there are any other bullpups out there with that feature integrated within it. More self-sustaining design.
Never have I seen the public putting a weapon through such a difficult development evaluation. M1A's and FN/FALs tend to be taken from case to bench back to case before being lovingly cleaned. The RFB is being fired in the rain, dragged through the mud, banged around and treated like an AK! And it is surviving!
Nice Job Kel-Tec! Now if they just made it in 10mm explosive tipped caseless light Armor piercing round, with upper and lower grenade launcher, we could take out Aliens! LET'S ROCK!!

Any plans for a long barrel version to make this thing CA-legal? The folks in CA are practically frothing at the mouth for the RFB. Some shops are adding on fake cans in order to make it long enough for the min required length of 30". You guys are missing out on an untapped market!
@fmonk last time i checked, it is still CA legal... It's got the mandatory 18" barrel and is 26.1" long overall. The problem is that it looks "mean", so it will be outlawed by special order... And the only way around that is to make it pink and shoot rainbows instead of bullets... (sorry, my anger at CA politics is coming out...)

It's one of the first production bullpups that have more than a mediocre trigger, and it's in .308 with non-custom magazines... what do you want from them? if you can get one for under $1600 its a steal. Hell, that's what i paid for my PS90, and it's just a blowback system (think the way a Ruger 10/22 works).

its pretty affordable compared to any other .308 offensive type rifle. Acout the same price as the cheapest dpms. Less then most m1, less then any of the name brand ar10 types.

@adobo777 its pretty accurate. go on google and type in kel-tec rfb review and find the one by gunblast.com and the guy has pictures and a full descriptive review all in all its an incredible gun and it is pretty accurate i myself am thinking about purchasing one asap another gun that ive had my eye on for awhile is the f2000 and he also has a review of that and obviously that gun has the same ejection system and about the same accuracy except its in 5.56 either way theyre very accurate
@snoprog Correct! The Comp M4S to be exact. The only difference is where the battery compartment is located... The barrel attachment is still in the works, but unfortunately I don't have an ETA for you on that.
@KelTecWeapons I just picked up a CompM2 with the flask kill for a super price. Also have that QRP quick release mount, much like the one in this vid. A very nice setup.
I've got the Magpul plastic flip BUIS too. Is there a longer pickatinny rail in the works for a better BUIS sight radius. Maybe a couple inches rear and a few up front. That would be a nice option.

Kel tec is looking to make this platform fire a variety of different calibers but at the moment they will stay away from the intermediate rounds. Supposedly the newer RFB's will come chambered in .308. I too would probably not drop more than 1K on a weapon system that uses the 7.62x39 but thats just an opinion and people will agree and disagree.

Considering that the charging handling is attached to the bolt carrier assembly I'd say it's an artifact of the filming, EG most of the motion occurs between frames.

Thought the rifle was really cool. I was even more impressed when my local shop managed to get 3 of them. Wasn't to impressed when picked up the new in box rifle and had problems charging it and turns out 2 pieces of brass stuck in tube that the rifle ejects through. Still nice rifle I just got a little turned off by the brass showing up when it did.

@itxploded its very similar to the orignal feeding from the magazine, it goes up a ramp into the ejection chute.

Is it just the vid ore does it look like the charging handle reciprocates and sometimes it doesn't.

Considering that the charging handling is attached to the bolt carrier assembly I'd say it's an artifact of the filming, EG most of the motion occurs between frames.
