Let's be honest...people hated the idea of Kanye playing Bonnaroo way before he ever took the stage. That's the thing with Bonnaroo, plenty of other shows to check out if you don't like what you're seeing (granted, if you didn't like this one, your only other option was your campsite, but you get my point).

Actually Kanye was supposed to go on around 8 on the second stage and they moved him to 2:15 on the main stage. If you'll look in the schedule that they gave you when you parked, you will see that I am correct. (If you were there.) He came out at 4:30 am. which is 2 hours and 15 minutes later.

I'm not going to dispute that it was unprofessional, but I'm just not sure who was responsible. Kanye released a statement yesterday on his website saying that Bonnaroo stage persons had problems putting up his stage...If that's true, then I can't put all the blame on Kanye...although to be honest, I'm not really sure what's true.

I know that if I wanted to go see Phil Lesh, Ghostland, Talib, Sigur Ros, etc., I wasn't waiting around for Kanye.

Kanye was late because he was back stage blowing his roadies while his body guards were fisting his ass. Seriously this was the worst show in Bonnaroo history. I've never seen so many people so pissed off at a concert in my entire life.

Listen fucker- I've worked concerts from Vegas to Maine. I've seen every aspect of the scene. Making your fans wait until the sun comes up is no way to put on a show. Were you there? Part of the reason why so many people are pissed of is that they did give this no talent ass clown a chance to turn them on to his music. He blew it. While waiting for this guy to go on stage lots of people missed Phil and Friends when Eddie Vedder came out.

Rock acts have been doing "Rock Operas" for years.The Who's "Tommy" and Pink Floyd's "The Wall" are rock operas.Neil Young's "Greendale" was a "concept album/rock theater" (which he did @ the last Bonnaroo I went to back in '03).

Kanye took a risk doing "rap theater" but if you can't even note the effort, then you're missing the point. I'm sure a lot of people thought it was "cheesy" but if you could have kept yourself from being so critical, you might have found yourself shaking your ass.

Neil Young did not play Greendale at Bonnaroo. He played one or two songs from the album but he played a greatest hits set mostly.

You're right sftravis, I stand corrected...I just remembered the stage was set up for Greendale, but he didn't play much from that album. To be honest, I only really remember Cinnamon Girl (and maybe Cortez), the rest is kinda fuzzy. My point remains though, artists try theater stuff like this...it can be groundbreaking or mediocre, but personally, I appreciate the effort regardless.

kanye at sunrise and robert plant at sunset...the same day, the same stage...fucking epic. I agree, people were hating on kanye hard, spray painting fuck kanye all over and chanting it the next morning. Who knows, maybe he had nothng to do with the lateness, either way he put on a great show.
