He did far more for the war effort making movies that pushed for the sales of War Bonds than he ever could in uniform. he was a Patriot and the true definition of a man. He flew to Washington to plead that he be allowed to join the Navy but was turned down. So he poured himself into the war effort by making inspirational war films.
