  • Note: Mars was a popular club in the 90's! Also, the House dancing was renamed in the 90's for example the shuffle is actually the skateboard. I originated the name and also did research they had no name for this dance they did back in the 30's and 40's. I love all that do this dance, but there are original heads like myself that originally a Bboy and still, became a House dancer when my mom moved to Chicago because Bboying was not allowed in the teen clubs and hangouts! Be blessed!

  • 1st Afrika Bambaataa the God father of Hiphop got influenced by Kraftwork the song Robot to do the music style of Hiphop fused with techno/house music.

2nd Mars a NYC Club played what!?! Chicago house music, It was called Foot work in Washington, in ATL they added Gumboot dancing 2 it, Cleveland added their own moves to it, but I never saw it.

3rd House and its movements me and my friends did/renamed in the 80's and then 90's were originated in Jazz dancing back in the 30's and 40's.

  • @Odori73 they played house and nyc club music at mars, i was there, and friends with duke of denmark at the time... the term house now means all club music, not just chicago... todd terry got much light in mars and he's from nyc, same time inner city got much light and that was from detroit, this is ska got much light and longsy was from the UK... it's all dance music and the idea of playing it in a club started in NYC at a place called the Loft in 1971. but it aint where u from-its where u at!

  • @TheOneMusic @LeoDan247

    House dance originated in NY

House Music (Warehouse music ) was a combination of NY and Chicago

  • @LeoDan247... did you say 20 years ago??? First of all...Let me correct myself. I had to go back and do some homework. "House Dancing" originated in Chicago in 1983. House Music itself started in Chicago. Thats well over 20 years buddy. You need to do homework/research and learn your facts before you start a conversation.

  • @TheOnesMusic House Dancing means nothing, people were dancing to this type of music in 70's before there was disco, before there was house there was only the loft... the style of dance that terry does is more new york style than chicago... the detailed footwork has been a hallmark of new york style probably since the late 70's early 80's (correct me if i'm wrong)... "House Music" just means music played in the Wherehouse (in chicago), now it means more and that's where the confusion comes from.

  • Hmmm footwork from 20 yrs ago. Since all melanated folk dance & are in different territories, the expressions may SEEM different but in actuality have roots where? Connection with the music is most important. Go to the mother continent & see the roots in all of these dances 4 urself ur able 2 cross borders 2 other lands. BTW @ onesmusic: If it came from the Chi, then why are the innovators who teach abroad from NY? Ya'll need 2 demonstrate instead of typing words of dissension.

  • this style of dancing is called FOOTWORK and it started in CHICAGO 20 years ago. Yall niggaz just now gettin up on it.

  • didnt they make a house remix to that song?

  • @natera87 thats the original... i have never heard of sinnerman remixed but there are several nina simone remixes... see-line woman is one of the bigger ones.

  • nina simone - sinnerman

  • whats the name of the first song?

  • @ThatKidKeynon technologic- daft punk

  • Great homage to Bill "Bojangles" Robinson 1938

  • great dancing. an homage to bojangles

  • nice. nice. nice.

  • House, next to Salsa, is one of the most beautiful dancing styles out there. It invites and encourages individual expression. The dance styles incorporate moves from a variety of genres and cultures as diverse as the sounds that compose House Music. I love it. Let it flow. Now, time for some practice.

  • This is funny... is see so much mix from other dances in this house. Does somebody knows Frevo? or samba... general African dances... and breakdance.... wow... i like how dance gets re-invented all over again...!!!

    it's really cool!!!!

  • do they kill ll the ants?

  • I'll say another thing...I'm from Austin,Texas...TEXAS.....and I was watching underground vhs tapes of this cat back in the mid 90s...THIS WAS B4 THE INTERNET WHERE U JUST LEARNED ABOUT CATS BY LOOKIN ON YOUTUBE. We were copin vids of Terry,Ejoe,Budda.Shane,ect. way back in the 90s in FUKIN TEXAS. Thats a long walk from Brooklyn homeboy. So u youngsters tell me.....u still think this cat isn't legendary

  • @bboyillscience Hello in Austin :) I just moved here and I'm having a hard time finding clubs with good DJs and house music! Any recommendations?

  • Check out BANDANNA BLU! Comments pls!

  • This guy is very very good - don't knock him people, he's a street dancer - what a wicked flow! And for those who say footworkerz r better etc etc please be quiet, it's not just the style - it's normally down to the individual, his musicality will beat most people. As 4 this isnt nu that isnt new - again - Silence! Go back in time the body shapes and foot-moves have been around 100 yrs! I compare it to UK Jazzdancers - look up Floor Technicians, IDJ or Brothers in Jazz. Check user Jazzdance

  • this shit is garbo... chicago shit is WAY betta!

  • @SMILEY7414 .. HUSH YOUR BEAK & POST A VIDEO OF YRSELF IF YOU CAN DO ANY BETTER ....... DATDANZKID (TERRY) HAS PROBABLY GOT 10 YEARS ON YOU SOME HAVE SOME RESPECT - THIS IS ONE OF THE FRESHEST DANCERS I HAVE EVER SEEN. RESPECT 2U TERRY-MARK FLOOR TECHNICIANS

  • @SMILEY7414 LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLOOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLOLOLOLLOLLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLOL...ENUFF SAID..U GARBO...U KNO NADA

  • @SMILEY7414

you are one dumb mother fucker.

Brooklyn terry is getting called "garbo" by a fool who prolly can even shuffle HAHA!

  • this boy has music in his soul

  • ELITE FORCE!!!!! IN THE HOUSE!!!

  • Big up to Brooklyn Terry, sick steps, complex, and fluid. I do think this video would have been a better flow (far as music sound goes) with music by John Tejada or Terry Chandler... Still fresh video though..

  • Anyone who only watches internet videos and criticizes dancers online doesn't know shit about real dancing. Videos don't even show half of the details of dancing. Brooklyn Terry is a beast, that was dope

  • New York Flavor!! haha

  • wats the song at the VERY END??? SOMEBODY PLZ HELP

  • "Sensuality", by Vikter Duplaix...that dude's WHOLE DAMN CATALOGUE is HOT, if you fuck with good music.

    And, you're welcome ;)...

  • RATED.5

  • Brooklyn Terry has one of the most complicated footwork routine, he is versatile, creative and with a good sense of rhythm and timing. If you think he;s not good make a video, prove it and stop hating talented dancers who can dance and move fast.He has created a name for himself, regardless. Above all, his humility and personality is striking.Brooklyn we love you.You are an inspirational God given talent.

  • nice clip from new assassins. theyre completely on beat. chi footworkin music has dif accents and grooves than house.

  • wish i knew this dvd had a step lesson or i would have bought it sooner

  • I'm almost 35 and I'm from Brooklyn and Terry stood out from the rest..... what you saw was just the surface of a deep well..... I used to hang out at the sound factory in the 90's... Terry will eat ya food on the dance floor..

Terry got dudes in Japan house dancing....

  • @thamacimmaculate

Oh, lemme guess - you're new and don't quite know anything about battling up and down the Eastern Seaboard or when hip-hop and house were hopelessly intertwined and almost no rapper put out a tape without a house track on it or how most rappers got their dancers from the housing floor or how hope to die thugs used to battle at the underground and the tunnel - so you missed out and invented something new and now you wanna call those who begat you wack.

    fail. let's battle.

  • i have to agree with bboyillscience. just cause you can move your feet that fast does not mean that your dancing... you have to be on beat when dancing thats the only way to do it...

  • That must be NY style footworking huh? Kinda looks like the jump dancing that ravers do mixed with footworking.

  • he is doing NY housin....the footwork cats are doing in Chi isn't the same shit. How in the hell is he raving...he's dancing ON BEAT. Chi invented housin but the youngs cats jukin in Chi right now FUCKED it all up. The footwork is still dope, but the music is totally WACK. Where the hell is the musicality...cats looked like they in fast forward with NO rhythm. How DARE you compare him with some WACKASS raver...the shit Terry is doing is SOULFUL...the way it was originally. Learn yo lessons homie

  • Check out the new assasins

  • what is that..a freakin joke....like I said.....those cats are NOT on beat. I don't care how fast are complex your footwork is....if you not riding the beat being soulful your not dancing. You might as well do it without music...it would look the same. All the new, slow, fundamental ass rap beats has the young kids musicality fucked up. Real hiphop and house music was samples of great funk and jazz bands.YOU CANNOT TRULY APPRECIATE FOOTWORK WITHOUT AN EAR FOR GOOD MUSIC..

  • ...the grassroots of dope footwork DIDN'T start in chicago either...this shit goes all the way back to legendary cats like the nicholas bros,Bo Jangles, and the Berry bros. among others. Chicago coined the term housin...but all house music and house dancin evolved out of the disco era...and NY spawned most of the disco dance scene. I luv Chicago for its creativity, but that new Chicago footwork shit is sum wack amateur shit...real dancin is a visual expression of the music being played..MUSICALITY

  • what was the last song please with a cherry a top...????

  • footwork juke juke juke! windy city west side baby!!!!!!!!!!!! Chicago!!!! btw lovin da video!

  • this is NOT jukin

  • Why is it new york trying to take the credit for foot working it originated in chicago with house a matic

  • This is "House Dance" Not "footworking"

  • Your right...NY housin.

  • yea...but the shit the young cats doin in Chi now is FUCKED. Not talkin for everybody..just that jukin stuff. Chicago used to have the DOPEST footwork on the planet..SMOOTH AND SOULFUL....what happened to the musicality with the youngsters...they looked dancin like the dj turned the BPMS up on my 1200s. You don't decide how ARE how fast you dance to music...you zone out in the music and let GOD move your feet...but for that you got to have SOUL

  • first song please?

  • technologic-daft punk

  • 1:10 - 3:43 First time hearing the full song. They play this in Thomas Crown Affair loved that scene ^^

  • Chi, Detroit, NYC...who cares? A divine force, without geographic boundaries, courses through the body of Terry...it's a pleasure to watch his every breathtaking move...

  • it does matter people don't acknowledge the people who came first would he even be here doing this if it wasn't for the cats in Chicago

  • Fair enough point!!

  • This cat is a legendary VETERAN house dancer...he was probably housin when you were still ridin your big wheel. He and other cats like Ejoe were shutting down clubs in the early 90s...WHERE WERE U AT IN THE DANCE SCENE THEN HOMIE!!!

  • what song is this?

  • IF U WANT TO SEE THE BEST TRIBUTE OF MJ EVER TYPE IN- MICHAEL JACKSON JUKE TRIBUTE MOVIE HQ. i loved it....Rep Chicago N comment n rate it..(HavocRazy) Clint

  • Hi Terry just tuned into your moves love the technique my name is Christopher Hibbert a footwork artist just like you. If you pass through London look me up everybody know me who can really warrior dance there not a lot of us left.

  • I have the dvd... definitely a must have, youtube doesn't do his footwork justice

  • anyone knows the name of the last song??

  • vikter duplaix - sensuality

  • Thats House

  • this guys foot work are off the charts!!!

  • those spins was everything!

  • Love this song... Anyone, willing to share the tittel?

  • nina simone- sinnerman

  • He's an awesome house dancer. I'm inspired even more.....Peace

  • Best HOuse DancER I have EveR SeeN...

  • up rock!

  • Can I just say that watching the final minute of this clip is fucking mind blowing? This dude should make anyone who does any form of any street inspired dance proud.

The motherfucker MURDERS the beat at the end of this clip and is in total control.

  • For real. My friend and I had a discussion about how hard it is to dance to broken beats. We both love the music, maybe more than house, but the beats are so hard to hit. Sensuality happens to be one of my all time favorites songs, and Terry nailed it to the wall more than I ever could. Terry is proof: Housers can dance to broken beats if they can reach his level of virtuosity. Ridiculous, but inspiring.

  • yeah i love broken beat as well...it looks so fresh when you dance to it...just gotta listen in and remember the beat...theres so much more to play with than a regular house beat

  • The second music name is :

Sinnerman - Nina Simone ! (execellent music)

  • In regards to Brooklyn terry his footwork is just as varied and fucking incredible as a footworker(he's got better footwork than almost any house dancer I've seen)and yet he does it with fluidity and swag. I'd like to see a footworker do those MULTIPLE pirouettes. I'm sure there are some who can but far and few in between. The point is it's not about the style it's about the dancer. There are amazing footworkers, ballet/jazz dancers, bboys, and as seen here house dancers.

  • Thnx 4 ur posts. Im jus discovrng th variances on thes forms so I appreciat wut u sed. 4 me, this looks vry much lyk a hous variant. Emphasis on foot work, but it is the same family, ryt?

Also NewStyle seems to b a hous variant that simply encorperates other forms (poppn, krump, etc). Is this correct?

Culd u put me up on some dope "footworkn" clips? I wanna get this right.

    Really apreciate ur posts.

    tia

  • Also house dancing incorporates A LOT of different styles of dance so they can't be as specialized in a paricular area. It's like the arguement of boxing vs. MMA. Obviously boxers are better with their hands but those who practice MMA have to worry about kicks, knees, elbows, getting taken downs, and submissions so they usually aren't as proficient as boxers at punching.

  • this argument about "footworkin" vs house dancing is rediculous it's a totally different style. Yes Chi town footworkers are faster in their footworkin and have more variety than the average house dancer(but not always) yet they lack the fluidity and grace of a house dancer. And I've almost never seen a footworker(and I've seen some of the best from youtube) follow the beat with their footwork like a house dancer does.

  • u said it...dancing is about being a beatrider

  • man that's not even foot workin at all so u need to just stop try in bring ur ass a chiacgo so we can kill ur ass in the real shit that's called foot workin BITCHSSSSSSSSSS

  • Wow. I see why he's the way he is now. Because of cats like you. The man has been all around the world. He dosen't even live in the U.S. anymore he's in such high demand . It's interesting to think that someone that "need to just stop" would be able to take their talent Globally . No disrespect to Chicago but to get, you've got to give. You're probably not even the best the city has to offer.

  • your fuckin wack...I bet you been dancin for like 6 months. You can't hold a candle to this cat...so go take sum more crystal meth so u can move your legs 200mph. The rest of us will be riding the beat in some art you never heard of...DANCING

  • o mi god!dope foot work!!!!!!!!

  • "Ooo0o0 Yeaaaaa Terry o0o0o YEA dAahahahahhhhh" lmao annoying bitch

  • Incredible! But where's the groove of the upper body??

  • u freaking idiot thats y its called FOOTWORK not the upperwork and footwork footwork is where u only dance using ur feet

  • Absolutely the god of house dancing. foreal!

  • Man I've seen a lot of house dancer but this one !!!

    Respect !!

    Peace. House dance 4 ever.

  • Ok what the fuck is he doing??????

  • It's called house dance .

  • Bklyn Terry is soo sick with his, it's not even funny

  • " House For The sake Of House " NYC gave Birth To the ART FORM, While Chicago took credit for it,. But Isn't the BEST FLATTERY, called " IMITATION",Chicago wanted to take possession of an art form because they supported the idea of having 110 threw 140 Beats Per Minute, with people showing their creative genius through footwork that was both rhythmic, & on point, Now I can Truly say In All Honesty, This Kidd "BROOKLYN TERRY" gets, My NYC Vote As being the "Wizard". Thank You & G'Night!

    IzzUKaZy.

  • that looks like tap dancing

  • Whats the name of the last song?????

  • @BboyMenez Sensuality by Vikter Duplaix

  • damn man hahah you soundin kinda tender and offended. look I dont like this online arguing stuff. I let my skills speak for me I been around for a min and I know whats up. so if you feel some kind a way about what i said Im always up to takin it to the floor. holla

    elite force

    Brooklyn Terry

  • Wassup man this is Jerry from the shelter, sound factory bar...etc. I'm proud of you man. You have come along way. I rember you and your home boy that used to work at that shoe store on 8th street would be going to work on people in the circle at the shelter. Don't step out as much but my skills are still sharp. Peace and much blessings

  • whats the song at 3:44?

  • I agree with DatDanKid!!! I have his Documentary Framkie Knuckles that is. House really started in the NYC frankie brought to The Chi which ya gave it the name "HOUSE". If ya' don't believe it ya can google it yahoo it etc etc etc. Footwork always been around ppls!!!! Look at the old school BBoy videos!!!!!

  • sup yall This is terry. so I am not jukin or footworkin I am doin house. yes house is from chi but it was brought there by a nyc dj (frankie knuckles) and there where 2 different movements goin on at the same time both in chi and ny. Im 35 and have been doin this for a long time so please get over yourselves thinkin one place is better than the other, cause at the end of the day its about who gets busiest i dont care if is hip hop house footwork poppin lockin fuck the genre just dance holla

  • you a damn lie..for the simple fact that if the chi and nyc was doin different movements at the SAME TIME, then how could you have brought a style of music to a place that was already doing it??..PLUS, ya'll style is more similar to detroit than ours anyway

  • Amen....

    stop this hatred....

    lets just dance house

cuz its one of the best feelings... :D

im from chicago by the way... :)

  • @ runway2007,

Chicago in da HOUSE!! : )

  • fuk all these haters...your footwork skills are legendary. You were an inspiration to me dancin in the 90s(I'm almost 34) and I always remembered u from your dancin and the fact we have the same 1rst name. All these young cats doin this so called footwork don't have the ear or the experience to compete with cats that grew up in housin in the 90s. The era of soulful dance music is truly dead in America. You keep doin your thing till your old and break and I will too..-peace,onelove,and tatertots

  • umm footwork is chicago jukin and all that everybody knows that....house music is chicago for those who has no idea of what they talkin bout....its o.k but not better then the way we do it in the chi

  • IT WILL NEVA BE BETTA DAN HOW WE DO IT!

  • the perfect song for footwork is mushihimesama futari stage 5 ost, its like super fast, it sounds wierd at the beginning but its orginal and different. when peopel hear it they would be like wtf until it starts to start then they like oh shizzle. lol

  • I play piano but I can't dance for anything. I love footwork, and it looks so fun, I wanna learn. Great introduction too.

  • i didnt know that they did footwork in ny to.but da chi is the real place 4 house and footwork thats what we do!

  • Word up fam. Da CHI got it on lockdown.

  • his footwork is outta here

  • sick~~

  • Hot Video.

    Long Live Hip Hop!!!

  • You mean house, right?

  • yu-mean, Long Live House-Dance...

  • Sick style just wonder where you could learn it

  • Chicago

  • in CHicago??? i thought dey ONLY did dat footwoorkin and jig (not housedance).....NY at Shelter is where one could learn it.

  • Damn! that last performance was sick! on beat or whaaaaat?!?!

  • god's feet

  • NO NOT HIM ......MY BAD....LOL

  • this guy reminds me of a long friend of mine....(cebo).....wow...same moves, looks and all...wat the fuk...lol

  • u aint seen footwurkin til u kame 2 tha chi!

  • AND U!!! I'ma breathe easy on you! shit may have started out in the chi, But Terry's from Brooklyn N.Y.C. and now lives in Japan due to his house dancing abilities, REPRESENTIN' hard as fuck. SO DO ME A FAVOR AND STOP FUCKIN HATIN'!!! CHI-TOWN GETS THEIR PROPS BUT GIVE TERRY HIS, CAUSE HE'S BEEN PUTTING IN WORK FOR YEARS!!!!!!!!!!

  • first of all y da hell would i hate on this when i already said i dont like footworkin cus i dont know da definition. if i dont know the definition den probably hell nah i probably dont like it. but anyways good job and keep doing what u do.

  • oh my bad, you mad? yeah you mad! Lmao! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!! I'm glad you feel that way! you sound so emotionally do you need some tissue?

  • i see they dont know the devinition of footwork because what they donig is tap dancin and it looks weird , but the first boy in the black did his thing

  • this was aiight. but honsetly i dont like footworkin cus it look a mess

  • well.. that's likely because you don't understand the vocabulary. to me, it looks clean and understandable.

  • well then i dont know the definition. well i said dat cus the way ppl do it at my skool look a mess and thats how he doing it too.

  • cheri, watch the video again once your own dance matures 15 notches. maybe 10 years from now.

i'm surprised by your comments because you're watching one of the best in the game, if you don't understand it, then you're probably still learning the two-step.

  • well im just saying that i dont like the way sum ppl do it.

  • yo...this is shabazz representing the zulu nation and that was footwork at it's best. HOW F***IN' DARE YOU EVEN SPEAK ON SOME SHIT YOU OBVIOUSLY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!!!! COME TO HOUSE DANCE CONFERENCE EVERY FIRST THURSDAY OF THE MONTH AT CLUB REMIX IN N.Y.C. THEN TALK THAT SHIT!!!

  • shut da fuck up cus i said i dont like it cus i dont know the definition. so if i dont like it then thats my own opiniion not urs. u can keep sayin that u like it and all but thats u so whatever. i dont give a shit. and im only 13 so what the fuck would i know about sum damn footworkin?!?

  • Like you said "I'm only 13 so what the fuck would I know about some damn footworkin?!? that's exactly my point don't speak on some shit when you have no idea what your talking about. check this out thats my dude "Brooklyn Terry" so I'm gonna defend him no matter what. so if you like it you can kiss my motherfuckin' ass bitch! have a nice day! :P

  • i swear u dumb as hell, keep standing up for him i dont give a fuck, im just saying i dont know what the definition is so i dont know what its supposed to look like.

  • my bad. the definition of footwork (as far as house dancing is concerned) is dancing to the different tempos (or rythems) of which ever song in a standing position(on beat) as apposed to dancing on the floor. if you listen to house music you'd that the tempo is alot faster than your average dance track and it's harder to stay on beat when your spinning and doing different combonations. next time you watch somebody dance to house music check to see if their feet is on beat with the music. peace!

  • thanx

  • your a total fcking idiot -_-

shut your fcking mouth you sound like a stupid ass lil baby you faggot -.-

go get your self laid by some fat ass -_-

  • who is you?!? LMAO!!!!!you mafucka's crack me up!!! I'll be at club remix in N.Y.C. thursday night... come shut me up BITCH! LMAO!

  • iight :D :P LMFAO

    XD

  • looks like tap from olden days, i wouldn't mind seeing moves and gestures pioneered after the civil rights move. representin less dog n pony moves

  • BATTLE ME SUCKA!!!!!!

  • fuck ya'll for dancin so muthafuckin good!! YEAH I'M HATIN!!

  • the second track is fantastic

but whats the name of this track ???

  • nina simone "sinner man" tuuuuuuuune!!

  • huh? u can footwork but u look like a ballerina no disrespect. u gotta b aggressive with it not gracefullthat was for the dude in the beginin now the rest of them need to jus stop they're makin me dizzy.
