  • good work! thumbs up for OCTA

  • existencialism

  • This really helped my review, how come you didnt mention the other neighbor and his dog :P

  • the whole point is that, existentialism, one should,or is responsible of all self's choices. Mersault the good and the bad decisions equally serious and with responsibility."you can never blame anybody"

  • excellent work.

    El bog

  • I read this book junior year and made a gameboard for our group project.

That whole getting on the bus thing must have not been the most Irvine thing to do since most ppl drive cars. No one's on the bus at all!

  • LOL

    at the linking park song!!

mannn it ruins the mood! the first half was excelent though. you shouldve put some other song!

  • Congratulations on your effort to capture Camus' Stranger. We are all strangers in the face of existence. "I will meet there jeers with a silent scream of execration".

  • yeah, the first half was excellent, but not the prison thing... i somehow imagined it a lot gloomier and smaller... i know, u probably didnt have access to a prison cell, but still. oh and the shooting scene was also a bit diff from what i imagined... but still, good job guys!

  • A buttered knife...Nice

  • i really liked it at first, the first song and your monotone voice did a good job of setting the mood, but then the fast motion stuff did a good job of breaking that mood.......and i have to say the second half kinda sucked all around and its very much a pity that you did not end the video with the last words of the book,"all that remained to hope was that on the day of my execution there should be a huge crowd of spectators and that they should greet me with cries of hate"

  • Daumen hoch, wirklich ein kleines Meisterwerk.

  • good job man, gonna add the movie, i like that you try to translate the great camus to young people today trough a very nice movie. good job again

  • the view, the locations were good..making me more camusing.. lol

  • i also wanna ask how you got the courthouse to yourself, as well as that outfit? you must've worked really hard on this, considering all the sets and props and everything.

  • the song is "stranger in the sky" by jason mraz. we got lucky on the courthouse which is in santa ana and it just so happened that nobody was there the day we went. its used as like a historical site. the outfit was from costume place. and yes, we're from california. thanks for the compliments

  • hey nice video, despite what other people have said. yea i agree with some others that it did miss some crucial parts of the book, but it's a short video, you can't capture the spirit of the stranger in nine minutes. and also, everyone has their own experience and interpretation of the stranger. so lay off. anyways good editing.

oh yeah can you tell me what music you used for your video. i love the music. and also i wanna say marie is kinda cute. you're from california i'm assuming?

  • nice man. did u get my message?

could i use this for and to show my class? can u send me a download link?

    -M

  • nice editing and movie making! I liked it!

  • fuck off man!!

    you didn't understand the book

why da fuck you made that shit?

mersault was a man without some kind of feeling, a man living in the absurd world,, where the life has no meaning...

  • mersault is a man w/out feelings_ but feelings as we know!you can refuse to be a hero when you kill!.

  • fuck off man!!

    you didn't understand the book...

    so

why da fuck you did that shit?

my life has no meaning, like your fucking life or the life of any motherfucker of this world

  • that's a fucking shitt man!!!

linkin park ? a stupid soundtrack

    You are a stupid motherfuckers

you must read the albert camus book before you make a stupid film!!

  • in spite of some bad reviews this film got i really liked it. how else could such a story be adapted with little or no budget? i like the meursault character and the empty courtroom scene. sure, there were missing aspects to the story but if you know the story you have to understand that not all of it could be realized in a low-budget film. you did a good job.

  • Despite what the comments have said, I think the film was very well done,It was a very good in adapting and makeing it yours, a littel was cut from the book, some part I would like to see but in all it was probly the best The Stranger film I have seeing, the first opeing song was good and set the froboding mood.

  • The problem is that you never read the book, putting that kind of music as score is one of the many bad choises. You should rethink all your cultural aproach. There´s a reason why the book was writen and you missed it by making it fashionable.

  • mega crap

  • This isn't the Stranger at all x.x What happened to the end? You left out the resolution. And Mersault is not emo like you make him seem.

  • why??? noooooooooo...... you ofensede memory of camus

  • Hmm, yeah. Mersault wasn't an angsty kid, and you kind of missed or worse, chose to ommit the great revelation at the end.

Kudos for creating this and posting it for us to view. The Stranger is my favorite book, but yeah this video was pretty horribly off from the text.

  • Your interpretation of Camus is inhumane and oppressive...

Damn you kids and your computers! When I was in high school, we couldn't make nicely edited videos for a cheap A!
