  • All wrapped up in someones comment about yours. I see it everywhere. Everyone I know goes away in the end. Where ever you go there you are.

  • Me Too

  • trent reznor the best . wow great artist .

  • it sounds better live

  • Rename it to Reznor cries during hurt performance and see how many views it gets.

Why don't you twits debate whether vanilla or chocolate ice cream is "better"...

  • One of the greatest song' about drug addiction, if not the greatest! only neil young's Needle and the damage compares in beauty and intensity!

I believe heroin addicts can relate to this song more because that is exactly how you feel when you are losing everything you love and you cannot help yourself!

  • @Peter666Nelson umm.. it's about Charles Mason as it the whole helter skelter [downward spiral] album. I hurt my self today, the need all tares a whole. could be about herion addiction too, if you'd like to make that analogy.

  • @oliverthered

If you could spell, maybe people would take your theory seriously.

  • @crcksammich my spell checked is smart enough to actually tell me what it was so I guess it's more intelegent.

    crcksammich hurt my self today,

to see if crcksammich could feel,

the need all the spelling to be correct tares a whole,

the old familiar sting. umm.. recorded in rolan pedo polanskis old house yeh, can't be bothered to spell check it, if you can;t understand with a few smelling mistooks you never will.

  • everyone, crcksammich know, makes a spelling mistake now and then.

and you can have it all, my empire of typo's

  • annie more a little close, I might just slip away. ever read misery by Stephen king? How about playing and ID software with a box on Nine Inch Nails shooting NAZIs / evil &co. You do not appear to have a diminished sense of self, you are attached in the 1st not 3rd ,you discriminate against me due to a language issue, not a problem with logic or reasoning on my part. Maybe I leave spelling mistakes in for people like you I mean I, a change in the face of the unchanging shall parallel the truth.

  • I think Cash has more emotion in his vocals, but the music itself in NIN has a lot more emotion. I can feel the fucking guitar throughout me. Anyone agree?

  • everyone I know goes away....in the end...

  • This IS THE song!!!

  • i love the fact that we "freaks" identified w. it first, but cash brought in the rest of the world. it actually brought us all together, yet people dont realize it.

  • "Everyone I know goes away, In the End"

  • Apples and oranges. Trent and Johnny. I appreciate and love both versions. Cash battled his own drug problem during his younger days. Cash led an amazing life.

  • Is this man a fucking genius, or what

  • @PKemmerich him and rob :)

  • I love it when he smiles at 1:45.

    I love this song and it makes me feel so sad when I think about him;

Not Trent, but someone I was very close to...

R.I.P. Jordan. I love you forever...

  • the first chord (played as an arpeggio) reminds me so much of some other song....but I don't know which one...

  • @Pasghetti3 ME TOO! I think it's a rap song...and it goes OOOH OOOOOH

  • @DesiraeDesHOMIE

yeah it's WestSide Connection - Killa Kali.

    I remember it now.

They sampled this song, but with a lot of noise in the background.

  • johnny cash liked this song thats why he covered it.trent nailed it pun intended..

  • They are both amazingly talented. I <3 both versions of the song. Johnny did it justice, may he RIP, but there's nothing like the raw emotion and pain in Trent's voice as he sings this song. His sorrow penetrates every syllable- which is what appeals to me most. It's almost as if I feel it with him. I'm just saddened that Johnny never got to do a version w/ both of them. That would have been lovely.

  • Q101 played this song incessantly in the mid-1990s. It was hauntingly eerie, not knowing the depths of this type of drug addiction, and so stark real. This performer can rip the emotions right out of the listeners.

  • i love the johny cash cover of this

  • Trolls everywhere!

  • die version ist nicht schlecht aber die original version von cash ist besser

  • @legende19 Das ist das Original. Cash hat NIN gecovert, nicht anders herum.

  • AWesome!!!

  • love it!

  • johnny got a good cover BUT Trent sings it with so much emotion! UNIQUE - TRENT <3 NIN

  • @MystiqueSensual

    totalmente deacuerdo Mistiq paz

    strongly agree peace Mistiq

  • @theallstar25 they both use alot of emotion. I think Johnney knows he was at the end. Glorious song, makes me sad about my life.

  • @MystiqueSensual you cannot honestly think that.

  • @nikkudaninja I think so. I know .. Johnnys cover is very sad and he also sing with his heart this song .. but I think the song belong to trent and it tells a story about him! ;) but I like the cover but I love the song from trent ;)

    <3

  • @MystiqueSensual cash and NIN sing them in different meanings

cashes was one last farewell his last moment to shine

NIN's is about a drug problem

  • @Gillespie80 They are still the exact same lyrics. Any meaning from the JC version is simply one you are reading into. im not sure people would feel the way they do if he hadnt passed away 3 weeks later. I remember when the cover dropped. Some were impressed others hated it. But then he passed away and it was hailed as his farewell. Its a great version. But it will never touch the original.

  • @Theenragedone itll never touch because the songs are completely different...the words have nothing to do with it...its how u feel when u listen to it

  • @Gillespie80 The words have everything to do with it. The words are what make the song. The delivery might help convey it but this song is what it is due to they lyrics and quite simply Johnnys version is a good cover. It will never compare to the original.

  • @Gillespie80 I know ;)

    <3

  • @MystiqueSensual JC changes crown of shit to crown of thorns. Small change though it may be, it brings the connotations of religion into the JC version, as you can tell in the JC video. I would go as far to say that if it weren't for the lyrics being (nearly) the same they would be completely different songs!

  • @MNJIMBOB You did not see Jesus in the flash of pictures, apparently; Trent had religion in it from the start. I agree that the faith and penance are approached differently, but guilt cannot be denied.

  • @MystiqueSensual ,hi , I love both , but Cash's make's me cry most of the time without my conscent... they are both amazing versions

  • @guydelest yeah I know what you mean ;) I like the version too

  • @MystiqueSensual

Both versions are amazing... However, Cash sings it with the broken voice and the raw feelings of the one he has just lost... But like I said, BOTH versions are absolutely amazing. and both have separate meanings.

  • @dkakito yes :) I like the version from Johnny but I love trents version ;) But the song is amazing and the text ..;)

  • 1:06........phenomenal.....

    great song

  • johnny's version is better.

And this is NOT the original video to this song -.-

  • NIN the best, but johnny got a good cover

  • @finnforfaen

    totally agree with you,

finnforfaen. I love my cover of Johnny Cash

    totalmente deacuerdo con tigo,

finnforfaen. a mi me encanta el cover de Johnny Cash

  • @finnforfaen

This is the original version of this song, written by trent reznor. Dumb ass.

  • theallstar25... this is the original, Cash's Hurt is a cover.....

  • @voltarena

that crazy I thought that this was the cover, thanks voltarena .. XD

  • @theallstar25

Its understandable its quite common for Heavy Rock/Metal bands to cover an old country song. Very rare to see (In fact this is the only one I can think of) that a country singer covers a Heavy Rock/Metal band

  • meravigliosa

  • tienen que escuxar el original es muy bueno Johnny Cash

  • Comment removed

  • i cant belive only 2348 people watched this ,that sickens me trent is a god ,

  • It's just that not many people have seen this post. Other videos of hurt have over 1 million views

    and yeah, he is :D

  • god this video really brings out the depression all of us feels at times. He tries to take away the pain with a needle probably full of heroine. He cant though and he cant get rid of it. He just wants to do it all over again but not lose himself.

    What a powerful song!

  • @monroeguy82
